Both London (still with no SL wins this season) and not surprisingly Bradford have both been relegated.

St Helens clinch their first Super League title since 2006 with a 14-6 victory over 12-man Wigan in the 2014 Grand Final.

They need to really throw the book at Ben Flower for the second punch when the St Helens player was on the ground feeling the effects of Flowers first punch and couldn't defend himself

Apparently he will be subject to the highest grade of punishment, a so called Grade F which means he will be banned for at least 8 matches.

RE: Superleague - mikedafc - 15-10-2014 22:32

6 Month ban for Ben Flower but given the season has just ended it means just 13 games so only 5 more than the maximum

The Ben Flower incident can not be condoned. Yes, it was a reaction to a high tackle (illegal) with an element of a shoulder charge (illegal) but to punch a player who was semi-concious and was unable to defend himself was a serious matter deserving of the highest punishment - which he quite rightly received.

I was at the game, from the first tackle you could see something was going to happen sooner rather than later. Even in the warm-up the Saints team were hitting each other so hard one player had to get treatment.

I'm a Leeds fan and was in amongst the St fans... who by the end of the game were fighting amongst themselves... one fan flew past me down the steps after being pushed.... it wasn't just the blokes who were fighting it was the women and children!

Unlimited alcohol consumption involved?

That doesn't sound very encouraging especially when RL attempts to sell itself as a "family game".

St Helens ,Widnes ,BOTH Hull clubs' "fans" have got ,shall we say a rather unpleasant reputation in RL .Before anyone screams outrage , it is a minority , but a significant number .

Wigan 4-8 St Helens
Dramatic climax to the Grand Final as Jack Welsby scored the game winning try for St Helens after the full-time hooter, when he pouned on the ball after a deflection off the post from an attempted drop-goal.
