Like many bands from the 90's I think REM will be the first to admit that they had allready hit their peak and that there time and era in the spotlight had allready passed. Also based on all of this they have also made their millions and the music has very much moved on now and REM would probably have never been able to recapture the popularity that they had once acquired. A great band and one I listened to a lot whilst growing up in the 90's.
