The gap is now down to 1 point. Today's reulsts : Celtic 2-1 Kilmarnock Dundee Utd 3-1 Hibernian Dunfermline 0-3 St Johnstone Hearts 2-0 Motherwell Inverness CT 2-1 Aberdeen St Mirren 2-1 Rangers Good wins for Dundee UTD and I.C.T RE: Scottish Football - Sm© - 28-12-2011 22:51 The glorious Glasgow Celtic have managed to go from 15 points behind to 2 points ahead in the space of 8 weeks Mon the hoops #Result RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 04-01-2012 22:39 I honestly have no idea why anybody would advocate standing area's again, a lot of people will look back on this era with rose tinted specs, but they weren't, Tannadice for example had the steepest slope in Britain where the Eddie Thompson Stand is now situated, standing was for me a major health and safety risk and I hate to say it but the hillsborough disaster was an event waiting to take place, standing at games was madness, the police had no control and when your team scored a massive surge forward used to happen and at times it was very frightning for fear of crushing, I say no no no to standing at games as it's a surefire way of another disaster happening again RE: Scottish Football - Chilly - 04-01-2012 23:26 (04-01-2012 22:39 )Scottishbloke Wrote: I honestly have no idea why anybody would advocate standing area's again, a lot of people will look back on this era with rose tinted specs, but they weren't, Tannadice for example had the steepest slope in Britain where the Eddie Thompson Stand is now situated, standing was for me a major health and safety risk and I hate to say it but the hillsborough disaster was an event waiting to take place, standing at games was madness, the police had no control and when your team scored a massive surge forward used to happen and at times it was very frightning for fear of crushing, I say no no no to standing at games as it's a surefire way of another disaster happening again Erm, there's a very good reason why it's called 'safe standing'. The Germans are the ones who've perfected safe standing, and it's about time the UK did the same. RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 04-01-2012 23:39 Chilly you know and I know that this just wouldn't work in the UK, people would simply not stick to their own designated standing space, could you imagine a Rangers v Celtic match for instance with all the passion and er hatred between the 2 teams without all bedlam breaking out if they were all standing, for Neil Doncaster to advocate this is madness, standing again at game's is revisiting the dark days, I don't buy into this safe standing argument one bit, there is nothing safe about it whatsoever, also it's worth pointing out if you have some 7ft giant in front of you then you have next to no chance of viewing the spectacle, thanks but no thanks, what's wrong with the way it is now, as the old saying goes, if it ain't broken, why fix it RE: Scottish Football - Money_Shot - 04-01-2012 23:47 I have to disagree with you ScottishBloke, it definitely ain't my preference to sit down. I love standing on the terrace. I've only been to one Aldershot game where the ground was a sell out and it wasn't by any means unsafe. I think the rules and regulations these days it just wouldn't be possible for it to be unsafe. The minimum number of people would be out into the standing area's and the standing area's would be as far away as possible from the opposing fans. RE: Scottish Football - SeanTheDon - 28-01-2012 23:24 just got to beat Falkirk tomorrow and we are in the league cup final against Killie, should win with our fine form so far RE: Scottish Football - SeanTheDon - 29-01-2012 14:51 i predict Celtic 3- 0 Falkirk and how bad if that prediction is way off |
