It's easy to watch a team that win every week.

In my opinion celtic fans are the most loyal, pasionate fans in the world and would show up to watch them play in outer mongolia!

I'm sure you could of said the same about l***s, forest and both shef clubs not that long ago, when was the last time one of them sold out for a home game.

if they was struggling in lg1/2 the attendance figures would plummet.

I'm sure terence is right. Celtic supporters would attend any game whatever league they were in or wherever they were playing. A few years ago an enormous horde of Celtic fans travelled to London for a pre-season game against Arsenal. I was in a betting shop and one of these many thousands of travelling supporters walked in and asked to place a fiver on Celtic to beat Arsenal. The guy behind the counter said he was sorry but they didn't take bets on friendlies, whereupon the Celtic supporter replied that Celtic never played friendly matches and that his bet should therefore stand. It took a while to convince him that the bet was never going to be accepted, as he had a really hard time understanding the idea that Celtic were playing a game in which the result didn't matter.

Who needs them? - cmiller - 25-03-2012 01:35

if they want to join then they should have to work their way up like AFC Wimbledon have. it is arrogant and presumptuous to assume that they can simply waltz into the Football League, let alone the Championship.

if it were my choice, i would say never. it's hypocritical after the way their fans slag off the English and are so anti-GB. the sectarian violence and abuse turns my stomach. why introduce that element into our game? and remember the way the Rangers fans trashed Manchester city centre during the UEFA cup final? those thugs can rot.

they need us, we don't need them.

Well so far it is only the media who have floated the idea and they do this every 6 months anyway, not just because of what's happening to Rangers. They will run the story again in another 6 months, regardless of whether anyone thinks it's arrogant and presumtuous. If Celtic actually wanted to get into English football they could try the Northern Premier League who would probably accept them, although I don't see any way in which Celtic would think doing that was a practical option.
