RE: Football's greatest divers - terence - 09-10-2012 14:29 RE: Football's greatest divers - stato - 09-10-2012 22:09 got to say Dzeko of Man city and Ivanovic of chelsea are the worst culprits in the premiership, dive several times a game every week wouldn't be so bad if they wasn't 6ft+ but going down when a 4ft defender comes within 10 yards of them - pathetic. He is one of the best wingers on the planet but some of his most memorable moments in 2012 were dives. He did it four or five times atleast for Spurs plus once atleast for Wales (vs Scotland) in 2012. He always has a smug look on his face if he gets caught not to mention the sarcastic applauding of the referee he does. Half the time he is through on goal anyway, which makes it even more curious why he actually goes down in the first place. It's his own fault he has become a target for Premier League referees like Drogba and Ronaldo did in the past. Alves, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Messi and most of the Barcelona team do it on a consistent basis and somehow continue to get a way with it. Yet no pundits, newspapers etc seem to notice during games when virtually any other team or player that done or even tried to dive would get absolutely named and shamed like they had just shot someone in the middle of the street. It's no wonder Mourinho thought there was a conspiracy going on between Barcelona and UEFA. |
