I've caught up now Wink

So, Oscar says he can't compete on stride length? Well here are the facts...

Pistorius first 100m = 49, 2nd 100m = 43.

Oliveira first 100m = 52, 2nd 100m = 46.

Pistorius did not accuse Oliveira of cheating. Pistorius claimed that the rules were wrong and that Oliveira benefited from the rules being so lax.

as i understood it oscar pistorius has to wear certain length blades to run against able bodied athletes! i believe oscar always uses the same blades in every race he runs in and the brazalians blades i believe were longer than oscars which hav been checked before the race and everything was fine! in the original post i mentioned oscar came across as a sore loser straight after the race and i know alot of people feel the same way! i dont really know all the rules regarding the length of blades but as im aware the brazilian didnt do nothing wrong! i also understand oscar had an issue with this regarding another athletes blades length running up to the paralympics! if oscar ran the same time as he did in the semi final the commentator said he wud hav won the gold! my apologie's for the cheating remark!

Oscar Pistorius is one of the most remarkable athletes I've ever seen, and it's a pity he let himself down rather by making the remarks he did immediately after the race.

However, he did make a very comprehensive apology.

The whole issue of technology is one of the most fascinating aspects of these games, and one I had not understood until now.

The combination reminds me a little of Formula One...

yeah its all complicated cos some people including able bodied people he runs against say he has an advantage cos of the blades then he says he hasnt got an advantage then he loses to some1 else with blades and he's not happy after the race! i thought he wud apologise the day after he made the remarks although he did say there is still an issue he wants to talk about with the ipc!

RE: The 2012 Paralympics - bigguy01 - 05-09-2012 16:15

if pistorius was to compete solely in the paralympics, not do both olympic and paralympics, he would have more of an advantage over oliveira by some 5cm which means pistorius would have longer blades therefore he would have won last week.

Richard Whitehead, t42 200m gold medalist, has to race in the t42 has there are not enough t41's to have a race so he has to step up to t42 so the competition is tougher. this race is fantastic.
