Hey Sam, The phonomenon you're experiencing early each morning can be explained simple by the fact that Sky is operating correctly in implementing it's Parental Control features and after 05:30am Adult content is disallowed! Having just checked Sky's EPG (Electronic Program Guide) it would appear on 901 that the Early Bird show from 05:30 - 06:00 is rated 18 hence the PIN request. At 06:00 a new program starts Rated PG therefore No PIN is requested. Similarily Elite 911's Breakfast Club running from 05:30 - 06:00 is Rated 18 and a new programme starting at 06:00 is Rated PG. So if anyone from Bangbabes or Elite reads this then the 'Rating' in their EPG needs to be corrected to avoid their viewers having to enter a PIN between the hours of 05:30 and 06:00 each morning! Finally, there are two types of reboot for a SKY Box and I assume those mentioned above are simply disconnecting the Power for 30 secs and then powering the System back up again. Should this fail to correct the problem then there is another type of reboot which reinitialises the unit by firstly reloading the Firmware which will take up to 20 minutes, before completely reloading itself (I have never lost recorded programs, by the way). This procedure completely resets the box to ensure that the Firmware or other settings which may have become corrupted are reinitialised - corrupt data is more likely if the disk becomes almost saturated with recordings or is 'Almost Full'. So as a final and a very last resort simply Power OFF for 30 seconds or more. NOW Lads/Ladettes you'll need BOTH hands for this one! Listen Carefully! Press and Hold the 'Backup' button IN, and don't let go until I tell you! NOW with your other hand reconnect the power lead and continue to hold the Backup button in for what will seem ages, until a 'Set of Traffic Lights' come on! At this point, a Black Screen will appear advising you NOT to Power OFF or disconnect the Box, whilst the Firmware reloads and then reinitialises the unit! I've completed the above a number of times without any loss of recording and under direction from SKY Technical Support, so may be useful if you are having a reoccuring problem which may be caused due to corruption! Just in case you're only reading the end of this message, make sure you've read the start of it as well, because your box may be working correctly due to the Ratings given in the EPG. Hope this helps! RE: pin code? - Trevor - 08-10-2009 00:40 If anyone reading this is STILL having problems, then you may find this Post could be of assistance! http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=12333&pid=242190#pid242190 RE: Pin request 959/965?! - stilettos - 08-10-2009 07:24 Thanks, but i never normally experience that problem. As my pin is always set to off, and, during the holidays i am often still watching at that time when the changeover occurs,or set to record, and it never defaults to a pin request. Its a simple quirk of sky now and then i think. I spoke to them once asking if i could disable it altogether in order to watch films in the day that require a pin to do so, they said its not possible, idiots! I live alone,no kids. What's going on with PIN numbers on Sky? - Big Stu - 20-04-2010 20:14 Have i missed something, all but two channels (966 and 902) are asking for a PIN before you can view them??? |
