England's Tour of Australia got off to a slow start,on the first day of a 3 day fixture against a Western Australia Chairman's XI England's bowlers toiled as WA scored 369-4

Root 36 & Carberry 78 put on a stand of 100 for the first wicket.Trott 64 not out & Bell 77 not out have added an unbroken stand of 123.

Centuries for Trott & Bell,but they lost their last 8 wickets for 61 runs

WA 2nd innings 168-5

2 wicket apiece for Finn & Rankin

I see that the Australians have started their usual war of words before the series starts.
Shane Warne's has described him as unimaginative & hegative.
Cook's told Warne to look at the scoreboard.

So it looks like dirty tricks may be their best chance of winning the ashes back.

Cook has responded to Warne's attack by saying "it's water off a ducks back"

Cook is apparently open to a batting order reshuffle, meaning Root could move down to no.6 and have Carberry open with Cook. Will be interesting to see what lineup they go with in the game starting tonight. Last time we played their 'A' side at Hobart they sent the starting bowlers up to Brisbane and used the others in the game, but this time around I think we'll see the likely Test bowling lineup feature. There is still one more game between now and the first test so will allow Anderson say a rest then.
