im not disputing its wrong but youre not meant to swear on the pitch but u dont see players getting lifetime bans for that do u?

RE: The "Official Footbal thread" part two... - Timbo - 03-04-2009 17:18

No that's true but i think this is different, they swore because they wern't in the starting lineup for the Iceland game which means they thought that what the manger did was wrong. In other words they questioned about what he did which they believed was wrong. Plaus they went out and got drunk before a major world cup qualifier which in it's self is way out of line.

Now i do agree that the getting drunk bit could well have deserved a ban but the Scottish FA have said that was not the issue it was just the v sign business...i'd understand completley if both events were being taken into account but they werent!

Oh i thought it was for the both, well i don't know then they must have had a good enough reason to ban them for life so they have done, never really rated Ferguson that much anyways ever since he played for Rovers some seasons ago.

T banning for life does seem a bit harsh but anyone who follows scottish footy will know Ferguson has previous when things were not going his way. Look what happened when Paul Le Guen stripped him of the captaincy

What I find absolutely bizarre about the whole thing is why George Burley allowed the players to go boozing at 5am when they got off the plane from Holland- why would anyone do that - its not as if they have flown back thousands of miles and are jet lagged.

allowed to go boozing, they were in the bar at the team hotel(cameron house)the word that i have heard is that burley allowed them a drink, but the 7 of them that was there were still drinking at 11am,have heard scott brown was one of the others, but seems strange it got played down on thursday then bang they are banded for life, what if graig gordon is ruled out the norway game.the rangers situain is different,i think walter has been waiting for something to happen so he can get ferguson and mcgregor out as they are having to much influence over of field matters, lets be honest ferguson has not been the same since coming back this season and mcgregor is trying to play catch up with boruc

i like george burley cos he is a no bullshit manager. paul le guen tried to show people wat a winey little wanker ferguson was before but cos rangers were doin shit they turned on him. finally burley is the man to punish and show everyone wat a spoilt little prick ferguson is. he is slow, has a small pass selection, cant tackle and scores too few goals for a midfielder of his type, need to get twats like him out of the scotland team and do what croatia did. play all the youngsters like john fleck, who in my opinion is the best player (potentially) to come out of scotland for decades, so that they are ready for the next qualifying campaign. look how well ur young lads did against finland.

Here we go with the blaming of Scott Brown now- The official word which came from the SFA enquiry yesterday showed that players were allowed a drink when they got home (allowed by Burley) as the nutritionists had advised them to eat. The 5 other players involved- inlcuding Brown went to bedat 7am whereas Ferguson and Mcgregor were boozing till 12 noon which would have put them in no shape to train with the squad.

The media have been trying to appease Rangers by trying to include Scott Brown - Now its been proved that he had no part in it .

He probably wont be playing in the next old firm game anyway so there will probably have to be some other story made up
