Gold have also been using this as an excuse to re-run "Ripping Yarns" - the Palin / Jones post-Python comedy.

It's still pretty funny - spoofs of Victorian/Edwardian British Empire stiff upper-lippedness and "Boys Own" type adventure stories : possibly most famous one is the "Schooldays" one where they nail pupils to the wall, and the school bully is in charge etc etc

watching it right now on gold and already laughing my socks off. just done the iconic lumberjack song Smile having to censor it pre watershed but still very very funny

Gold are showing an uncensored repeat on Tuesday night at 9pm

What a last night and a global event too. There were live screenings at 2,400 cinemas in 39 countries across the world and it was broadcast live on TV in more than 100 countries. A good way to go!

It's interesting to see how mixed the reviews from critics have been, although Monty Python fans adored the shows.

Have to say although i didnt see the first part of the show,i thought it excellent,particularly the legendary Parrot sketch.pure comedy genius and good to hear its going to be repeated tomorrow night.R.I.P Monty Python.

And it's proved to be a financial success for the remaining members of the troupe/group. A reported £3M each!
