The defence is capable but looks weak because the midfield just can't help them out enough in soaking some of the pressure up. The fact is United need to bolster the squad in a couple of key areas.
isnt nick powell classed as a midfielder in the same mould as scholes? he looks like he can score goals from there when hes out on loan but i suppose its different playing in the premier league week in week out. hes hardly seemed to hav a chance at man utd yet, same as zaha whats happened to him? i remember g and p saying last year about sterling and zaha, 2 english talents who will be starting for england in the future, yet you never hear anything about zaha, surely deserves a chance on the wing, cos valencia young and nani seem so hit and miss.

There's between 100 to 200 million (depending on which paper you read) for Moyes to spend over the next two year.

He has a couple of players lined up for signing in this window

Sunderland have turned down an 8 million offer for Steven Fletcher from Hull.
They want 12 million for him.

Chelsea Propose Deal to Swap Juan Mata for Atletico Madrid Goal Machine Diego Costa. This is probably much more likely than the rumoured exchange deal of Mata for Rooney.

I think one of the premier league sides, possibly West Ham or Crystal Palace will take Wayne Hennessey from Wolves. Morgan's desperate to get the big names off the wage bill. Someone take Jamie O'Hara off our hands too please!

Wayne Hennessey is a big name? Anyway Jermain Defoe transfer to Toronto FC close to completion.

So it's all very quiet then with not much happening in this transfer window. Lescott from Man City to West Ham is possible with West Ham having confirmed their interest, and likewise Crouch from Stoke to Crystal Palace with Palace having confirmed their interest.

Hull have bought themselves a couple of strikers this morning
They have Shane Long from West Brom and Nikica Jelavic from Everton

Yes - in the sense that he's one of the clubs highest wage earners and an international. For a league one side, that's obviously a big name.

So the baggies are selling Shane Long and keeping garbage like Anichebe. First a shit manager and now this, the club is becoming a bloody joke.
