RE: Assassin's Creed Unity - bytor - 26-11-2014 19:49

I bought a few games over the last two weeks but this is the one game that has really impressed me. It's been a long time since I have played a game that makes me want to keep coming back to it like this. Great graphics and very varied gameplay with some challenging, but enjoyable missions set at just the right difficulty level.
There have been reports of bugs amd glitches but I have not really come across any except for one or two rare moments of collision detection.
However, rare as rocking horse shit for a games developer, the AC team at Ubisoft have sent out an email to all owners of the game making a sincere apology for the errors that people have experienced. To make amends they have today downloaded an update to set right all the errors and as a thankyou to us all they will be giving the Dead Kings DLC free to every owner of the game. Furthermore any one who has purchased the season pass will also be able to get a choice of one free game from a selection of Ubisoft games.
Ubisoft state that they welcome all the feedback, good and bad and will continue to strive to improve the game and make it as perfect as possible.
I can't speak for everyone but I'm really impressed with such fantastic customer service. The apology alone is enough for me...we all make mistakes but the sign of sincerity is to acknowledge and learn from those mistakes. Great to see a developer being humble for a change.

Problem is with them is the damage has been done same thing with Driveclub, its good gesture by ubisoft but with the gamers it won't be enough with just DLC which is pointless as the moment the game is still broken or even the free game if did buy season pass which depends if a lot of people actually did.

But its not broken. I have had no issues with the game at all. The update released today is supposed to fix all of the problems others have had. Should developers be making sure games are perfect before they are released? Yes of course but market pressures dictate games get released and fixed on the fly. I doubt very much that sales of the next Assassins Creed will suffer as a result.
Driveclub however, is a totally different thing as that is down to lack of server capacity. They fucked up big style and have not made any attempt to really apologise. They made promises they couldn't keep and have still not got the online game up and running properly.

the game is the third patch fixes some of the problems of the game like falling through the ground and other problems the main problem i.e the frame rate hasn't been fixed yet Ubisoft said yesterday there still working on it and will fixed in a future which they haven't given a date as to when this will happen, yes you've been lucky enough not have any possibly issues with the game but many people hence why they wouldn't getting so much shit from people.
The reason why i compare to Driveclub is simply that you have a product and it doesn't work properly and with gamers first impressions last how many people will bother to wait till they fix a game, even with Driveclub they still haven't fixed the issues with the game or given the PSN+ members there free copy of the game as promised they don't have clue and people won't wait if there taking too long with there they'll quickly move to next game, the problem with that game it could have simply been avoided by testing the game either by a closed or open beta then it would have avoided the problem.
Assassins Creed Unity was simply rushed to get it out for the November release date, there have been insider people at Ubisoft that have admitted this, it was never a good idea to either release two Assassins Creed games at the same time even tho it was two different developers or for that matter releasing it every year wasn't a good idea. They should have taken there time with releasing the game even if that meant delaying the game, i would rather they delay a game and get good finished product rather then rush it you only have to look at Batman Arkham Knight its a pain in the ass its being delayed for such a long time but rather that then them release bugged game.
The problem with a lot of game studios is they know they can release a game half finish and patch the game later on, as i said with a lot of what has been going with these games its done them no favours and put them in a negative light, the DLC and free games will go some way in slowly making in amends but in future they need to take time with there games.

I have been playing this game since it was released. really enjoying it and progressing well until...I reached a level in the campaign where you have to fight your mentor and defeat him on top of a church. You are supposed to beat him 4 times before he finally dies, except in my case I keep winning but the game is stuck in having to repeatedly keep beating him and won't move on. Seeing if it was a bug or glitch I went on Ubisoft's Uplay website to look at the forums. Even more fucking frustrating than the game. Despite being registered, despite requesting a new password I still cannot get in and get the message that my email address is incorrect WTF! Ubisoft need a kick in the arse for being the cause of so much frustration.
I'm at the point where the game is back in its box and likely to be traded for one that works, one that isn't made by Ubisoft. A shame as the game itself is beautiful and has the potential to be a real classic. Just a pity that market forces look to have ruined it. OK rant over

Just managed to access the ubisoft AC Unity forum. Apparently there are many having the same problem with defeating Bellec in Sequence 7, memory 3. Seems this bug is prevalent across all gaming formats and is not being addressed by Ubisoft atm.

Sounds like Ubisoft alright Sad

Actually sorted out how to defeat Bellec so if anyone is stuck all you have to do is beat him then while he is down place the controller on a hard surface and hit the o button as fast as you can. You need to beat him 4 times in total to kill him and progress. The game gets back on track after this and is enjoyable once again. No need for the Bellec round though, just frustrating to the nth degree.

Had to post this video couldn't stop laughing, not so funny tho when you've paid good money for a game and that happens:
