Activia used to have adverts that burbled on about "good bacteria"
Now they have "Bake off Mel" telling us in a charming voice-over that it... "accelerates the process of intestinal transit".

Christ almighty.
Is that ad-speak for "makes you shit faster" ?

And not just that. All those other Blue Peter staples like matchboxes, milk bottle tops, metal toothpaste tubes, decent yogurt pots etc, no longer everyday objects. It must be rubbish trying to build stuff out of rubbish nowadays.

^ Wink Can't have youngsters building stuff out of rubbish these days.
That's not training them to be good little consumers ?

Ironical given that a lot of plastic packaging still doesn't seem to be an acceptable thing to put into kerbside recycling bins.
What else are we supposed to do with it then ?
laugh

Watching Police Interceptors and the narrator says

"The man riding the moped was found guilty of riding without a licence. He was given 3 points on his licence."

^DVLA create a "virtual licence" and put the points on it. The theory is that Scrotey McScroteface will one day become an upstanding citizen and pass his test, thus turning the virtual points into real ones.

The reality, as we all know is somewhat different.

How is a picture of a babe with a "BABESTATION" logo in the bottom right hand corner a "Non-Babeshow" Pic ?
Or a pic clearly taken on a Babeshow set ?
(Still nice pictures and all and thanks for posting, but ?.....)
I'll get my coat....

How is it that rubbish like Love Island which won a BAFTA award and gets millions watching passes for entertainment? Surely teens and older have better things to do than watch a bunch of total non-entities with bodies they can only drool, over having trying to have sex, have sex(allegedly) or just bawl their eyes out at relationships going south. There is a lot more quality around than that load of hoo-age! Mind you how many remember Big Brother with Jade Goody, Jonny, Kate, Alex the mod-dell and others -at least that mildly more entertaining, but then we were younger back then Big Grin

Nice to see the perennial arguments continue to go around and around....

Callers and viewers that fund things like perv cam and buzzy-wuzzies continue to get imho unjustifiable abuse from people that presumably never ever spend money on the shows. People that do mystifyingly find these things appealing shouldn't be abused for spending money on things they like.

As a fellow "freeloader" I get the frustration but I don't understand the lack of self-awareness on the part of those who feel the right to criticize while (presumably) spending little or nothing on the shows.

(And, believe me, I do share the sentiments of many who find the spectacle of ugly pink plastic spatulas protruding from the babes' nether regions about as sexually appealing as something very sexually unappealing.)

What I do mildly suggest is that there are probably ways of satisfying both sets of potential customers that the channels seem disinclined to seriously explore.

An ad for guided tours of Europe for retired people, with the slogan "memories that will last a lifetime."
