Picking Tredwell over Rashid now looks pure folly. He can not get into Kent's four day team ahead of the youngster Adam Riley, but somehow gets into the test team. Day 5 Pitch Joe Root out bowled him!! I know Rashid like most leggies has some bad days, but i am sure the Windies batsmen would have been caused more problems by his ability to bowl a great googly as well as the leggie.

Now we will never know... Moeen is back for the next test, i am interested to see the batting order. Moeen at 6, Stokes 7, Butler 8 .. seems likely but in my opinion 8 is far to low for Butler or indeed Stokes to be batting. Although with the fragility of the top order and the Aussies on the horizon maybe the plan is to stack the batting up. With Jordan/Woakes at 9 and Broad 10

The wicket was pretty placid. As long as batsmen did not play daft shots they stayed in.
It is the sort of wicket England will probably want in the Ashes against Australia Wink.
Any pitches with pace and bounce against the likes of Starc and Johnson will create devastating consequences for the England batting line up imo.
Congrats to James Anderson though.

Moeen Ali comes into the England side meaning that Tredwell, England's leading wicket taker in the 1st test gets dropped for 2nd. No other changes. Cook wins the toss and puts West Indies in and they make 188/5 in a day curtailed by rain (70 overs bowled).

England had the better of the first day but West Indies showed some fight as they put on an unbeaten 59 for the 6th wicket.

West Indies 299 all out. There's been more rain today so although the West Indies innings was 104.4 overs it's taken until tea on the 2nd day. After being 129/5 yesterday I think West Indies will be happy with their 299. Now for the final session of the day and England to bat.

England made 74 without loss by the close on the second day and the weather's looking good on the third morning, so we're getting a prompt start for the first time in this match. England also look to be getting better batting conditions than the West Indies had.

England batted through the 3rd day and closed on 373/6 with Root 118 not out. 98 overs were bowled in the day, which clawed back 8 of the 49 lost to rain on the first 2 days. Buttler is the other not out batsman, coming in as low as number 8 now that Ali is in the side.

England all out for 464 which included 3 run-outs.

Joe Root finished on 182 not out.

think this match could be heading to a draw, England should have picked Rashid saw him turn it square at Taunton last year on a very batsman friendly pitch, i think he could be the missing piece England need to get 20 wickets
