Japan beating south Africa certainly puts the disappointment of England performance against Fiji Into perspective. Be typical of our luck if we win our group and come up against south Africa in the qtr final as a consequence.
Everyone said the world cup needs a shock to generate excitement and by Christ Japan's victory they got one. I thought georgia beating tonga was a big enough shock
what a result for Japan.

whatever the price of the ticket for the South Africa game you certainly did get your money's worth with that finish!! I guess all of a sudden Japan may have exposed a few weaknesses in South Africa's that probably the rest of the teams will be keen to exploit and I am sure South Africa's sporting press went into meltdown after that.....
just watched the highlights repeat on ITV4 still can't believe it happened!! This is probably going to be a World Cup littered with upsets here and there

They say there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded springbok so would not like to be playing them next. Japan are playing Scotland in 3 days. If I were a betting man I would say put your money on Scotland to win that. Eddie jones the Japan coach will have a hard enough time just getting his team back down to earth after that win.

Learnt a few things about the all blacks today
1 when they are not allowed to pass the ball forward they look average
2 when you tackle them as soon as they get the ball they look average
3 when they are not allowed to play the ball on the ground they look average.
4 when they are not allowed to break the rules they look average.
5 When they are forced to play by the rules and are tackled as soon as they get the ball, without the opposition being penalised for no obvious reason, they look average. Strange that .
In short whn they get a ref that makes them play by the same rules as everyone else they are no where near the force they seem to be.

and they had two sin binned!! Maybe the Pumas took a leaf out of Japan's book but they have shown that New Zealand, if you put them under pressure aren't invincible as they seem

After seeing South Africa and New Zealand play maybe people will realise that England's performance was better than people thought.
New Zealand seem to be the masters at learning from their mistakes and playing 100% better the next game. Unfortunately we have probably seen their worse performance for this world cup: To be fair Argentina are no mugs and New Zealand went up a gear in the last 20 mins which the best sides do.

to be fair argentina isnt the argentina of old a good performance at the last world cup and they were invited to become part of the southern hemisphere comp that was the tri nations. they have beaten South africa in South africa and beaten the Aussies in Argentina.
Wonder if Japan do well if they will get invited into that Comp

Argentina in their time have also beaten France in Paris twice and beat England at twickenham. No mean feat just ask any scot.
South Africa did manage to avenge their defeat against them quite emphatically.
Australia are playing Fiji on wedenesdsy. Than we will be able to asses England's performance more accurately.
