I was convinced he would play Rooney upfront with either Kane or Vardy, but after hearing him say how much he likes the idea of Roney playing in midfield im convinced this will be his first choice line up. Just hope there isn't any coaches or staff of the opposition spying for them on this site.

Wilshire appears to have booked his place in the final 23 after yesterday's match against Turkey. He's still not 100% match fit at the moment, but he surely did enough to clinch his place in the squad.

Roy Hodgson has said that Fabian Delph isn't going to make England's final 23 and will be on a standby list.

After Rashford's performance against Australia it looks to be a bigger surprise if he doesn't make the final 23 than if he does. Also, Rooney seemed to answer suggestions that he shouldn't start for England any longer, as on that performance he surely must do.

I think Rashford's booked his place. In fact I think 22 places are booked now, with the 23rd and last remaining place to go to Sturridge, Drinkwater or Townsend. Delph we know isn't going, so it's between those 3 as I think Henderson, Wiltshire and Rashford are all going.

If Sturridge is fit he has to be in squad, no question. I know that's a big IF. I think Barkley might be in danger of missing out.

It's much too soon for Rashford i'd save him for the next qualifying campaign & for me if Drinkwater doesn't go than it proves that Roy needs his head checking out as Drinkwater was , for me & many others , the second best if not the best midfield player this past season , with him & Kante being one & two .
