You know when supermarkets get too big for their boots...

They start by offering everything at decent VFM, gradually dominate the competition and after a few years then they start to ramp up the prices. At that point they also begin to remove the less profitable items from their shelves that made them so varied and useful to their customers in the first place. They go on the assumption that their consumer has become too comfortable and used to shopping with such convenience to consider going to the hassle of looking elsewhere.

That's when you should begin to look elsewhere in my book. Rolleyes

Why would that happen? It's a straightforward business negotiation. As things stand, Sky don't want to renew their contract with Discovery, asking for a lower price this time. That isn't something you can go to court over. If Discovery stand their ground Sky will have to remove their channels.

Incidentally, the Discovery channels have already been removed from Talktalk TV, after the contract between the two expired on 30 June last year.

Just hacked off i went to Sky Q last sepember, soon as I did, they were giving away 4k tv's to new customers and now getitng rid of one of my main channels; as well as putting prices up.

Wondering if there's a loop hole, something to do with not providing the services they agreed to.

Wonder what the penalty is for coming out of contract early.

Edit,

Does anybody know if you can get all episodes on demand without having the entertainm, ent package?

You have to pay £30 for the install and then a further £30 for mini thing in the bedroom.

But Sky Q silver meant an extra £12 permonth on top of my existing sky charges.

Plus then damn thing constantly freezes and resets all your settings.

Further more, even after all these years sky broadband is still only 20megs, which for 2017 is appaling, I assume it's to force you to pay yet another £20 to get fibre.

Get an Openbox V8S. You receive all the sky channels, BT, Eurosport all the Freeview channels and loads more for a once off payment. I got rid of Virgin Tv over here in Ireland last year and am saving a fortune. I don’t have to pay any fees to TV companies.
All you need is a Satellite Dish and broadband that can connect straight into the box and away you go.
