They're like turpentine and haddock together, so splitting them up again would be a good start.

It's amusing from the TOTP repeats that Mayo has been doing the same "boyish charm" shtick for at least 32 years now.

Just seen that Zoe Ball will be the new presenter of BBC Radio 2's Breakfast Show, and Sara Cox would be her stand-in when she is away, for 10 weeks each year.

Mark this down under "total lack of surprise".

Give me Sara Cox over Zoe Ball anytime. Quote from Zoe Ball standing in for Ken Bruce on Popmaster. To contestants answer "was that a guess" . Contestant:" Yes". Zoe Ball: Well it's wrong. DOH!

Quote:The Radio 2 Drivetime show with Simon Mayo and Jo Whiley is to end after just a few months on air.
Mayo is leaving BBC Radio 2 altogether but will continue to present his 5 Live film show with Mark Kermode.
Whiley will remain on the station but move to the 7-9pm slot, which means Drive will get a brand new presenter.

All they need now is to arrange a little accident for doddery Ken Bruce so that Fern Cotton can have his job; Vanessa Feltz to replace Jeremy Vine (potentially an improvement); then get Claudia Winkleman to take over from Steve Wright, and it's a full house.

Many a true word, etc eek
