What are the chances that it could be either SF or the Patriots in the SB next year on present form? I don't think there have been that many NFL teams that have gone through the regular season unbeaten. i would hazard at a guess, that the Patriots were the last team to do so.

Over the last couple of weeks I've been watching both the Pat's & the 49's.
Although still unbeaten I feel that the Pat's are very dependant on both their defence and special teams. Their offence is missing a quality wide receiver and a tight end.
Where as the 49's are looking like Superbowl contenders. Top performers in both the defence and offence. My only doubt is the quality of the quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. He's no Joe Montana

49ers now 8-0 after a narrow 28-25 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
New England Patriots suffered their first defeat though going down 37-20 to the Baltimore Ravens.

The 1972 Miami Dolphins were the only NFL team to win the SB after going through the regular season unbeaten.
Could the 49er's be the first 21st C team that could emulate that feat in the next few years? Joe Montana was an amazing quarterback I think he broke nearly every QB record that was going during his career that was possible, from one year to the next. I would think given the chance, Jimmy Garoppolo could go close to Joe's records. I think the 49ers have been crying out for a decent QB since Montana, and hopefully with Grappolo they might have one.
