Fair play to Ewan for standing up for Moses Ingram against disgraceful racist abuse she's received online from scum.

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - skully - 01-06-2022 13:03

There is no reason or excuse for it, even if they don't like her character or her acting, but it seems the racists and woman haters are getting more and more vocal these days, which is a sad state of affairs, toxic unsocial media. What a world we live in Sad

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - Rammyrascal - 01-06-2022 13:29

It's absolutely disgusting & appalling that these sad and pathetic people are racially abusing Moses and even if you don't like her character Reva, it doesn't give you the excuse to racially abuse her. It's fantastic to see Star Wars supporting her and well said Ewan McGregor to this scum that they are not Star Wars fans and are not welcome in the Star Wars universe. She was on Jimmy Kimmel recently and is really lovely and doesn't deserve this disgusting & appalling abuse

Moses is very good in episode 3 which also sees Obi-Wan face a familiar face from his past

Thing is it’s never gonna stop because this always happens with black characters in tv shows these days i’ve been calling this out for years it’s not gonna first or the last that this happens.

This guy below in the picture I’ve posted is part of the problem he does the usually trick of saying something is shit but really he doesn’t wanna openly say he hates people of colour in roles. It’s like this if you don’t like something don’t watch.

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - *Kal-El* - 02-06-2022 02:15

So far three eps in I think mite been very good but not out standing. A couple issues i do have is the pacing it’s little bit too slow cam not expecting it to action packed throughout each Ep but with being a short season and knows a possible second it needs to get a move on.
A particular character has to escape and even with a head start they still get caught which is very odd and the whole rinse and repeat kidnapping is getting old already.
The big highlight so far has been Darth Vader all I can say is a totally badass.

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - *Kal-El* - 02-06-2022 17:51

After Rogue One and Ep 3 of this show Darth Vader definitely the best movie villain.

I really liked the scene on the truck when Obi is talking about joining the Jedi at such a young age. Its something that isn't really touched on a great deal in the series, Ewan carries so much emotion in his face it was well done by him

I like how Chow shot Vader in this episode particularly, when he is in what i am guessing is a quarry, having him in the dark with minimal lighting was effective. The cast were on The One show & Ewan talks about filming on set & turning round to see Vader & feeling scared like he was 7 yrs old again.

I second everything that has been said in regards to Moses Ingram, atrocious & vile racist abuse, glad to see Disney, Ewan & others speaking out against it

Disney speaking out against racism? What a fucking joke. They airbrushed Jon Boyega out of the posters to please the Chinese. Utter Scumbags.

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - ShandyHand - 04-06-2022 18:26

The end of episode three is an illogical mess; admittedly striking visual set pieces put before sense. Once again in Disney+ SW, the lead character has no agency in his own show - things just happen to him. The corporation don't seem to like the male characters of the original trilogy very much.

There are some decent potential in this show even now but it has very distinct issues - a number of which do surround the Reva character (her knowledge, motivations and actions). No excuse for racism as skully says but as TD points out there's some hypocrisy also from Disney to pick and choose who they support on this.

The show actually feels underwritten or the writing rushed at times. A few more dialogue exchanges with explanations and character moments would make a huge difference. Fingers crossed the second half will step things up.
