If they plan to continue the franchise, they should have his sister take over the mantle like in the comics. It'll be complicated whatever they decide, but to honour Chadwick, they could have him die off screen and make a chunk of the film a tribute. I hope they go that way, it'd make the most sense.

i hope they don't go down the princess leah route. it was ok for her, but they should find a story arch to explain his absence. imo.

get the feeling will be the sister that will take over as queen and as black panther its already in the comic book universe its the one time where disney can be as woke as hell and not get a backlash for it i think would be more of a backlash if they recast

Could you compare it to when Christopher Reeve died & thr Superman thing? I don't recall if they ever recast anyone in a Superman role in a movie after he died but I am sure died before any new Superman move was going to be made. and ou gink abou how many actors have played Batman in the movies we all have our favourites for that.

Chadwick was due to play the character again in multiple films, Reeves had finished his stint before his accident (I read a fifth film didn't happen due to financing), the next Superman film was in the 2000's, plus Reeves wasn't the first live action Superman. So it's not really the same thing in that regard. Chadwick was the first actor in the role (live action), and because of its cultural significance, they can't easily replace him, he was what made the character what it was, I can't imagine another actor in the role anytime soon. Which is why I hope they change things up.
Batman has been messed up a few times film wise, Bale was great, Affleck wasn't too bad, but Keaton was the best, Clooney and Kilmer are best forgotten as their films were shit, cashing in on what Keaton had started imo. If Keaton isn't your favourite film Batman, we can't be friends. lol.

Edit: Can't believe I missed Bale, what an idiot. Thanks Skyline.

^ agreed skully, Keaton was probably the best Batman but imo Christian Bale was a close second Wink - Personally I thought the Batman movies were at their best when Christopher Nolan was at the helm, however Keaton just get's the nod imo Smile, apologies if this has gone off topic here. The devastaing news of Chadwick Boseman's passing is truly shocking and I had never read anything regarding an illness that he was struggling with and it was a complete shock when I read about this. I'd rather not see anyone else be re-cast as Black Panther as imo he was brilliant in that role.

I have to say I liked Keaton as Batman I guess another comparison probably would be Heath Ledger everyone praised his performance as the Joker and I think many would say he was made for the role. I think it is probably the most difficult thing to do in movie making to make another film after a actor who bought a character to life in a movie so well has passed away.

I can see the academy paying a solid tribute to him at the Oscars

For me its between keaton and affleck, bale was only good in batman begins

And heath ledger great performance of a mad man but he wasnt the joker imo
Jack nicholson was the closest to the joker on screen

Chadwick Boseman's been THE topic of conversation this weekend. I'd never heard of him before.
