Pascal Ackermann won the final stage of the Vuelta, as Roglic wins the red jersey for the second year running. Carapaz was runner up after a brave effort yesterday when he cut Roglic's lead to 24 seconds. Significantly Roglic had accumulated by far the most bonus seconds, which proved to be telling. Great to see Britain's Hugh Carthy on the podium, with Dan Martin missing out in 4th.

Brit, Alex Dowsett has had to postpone his bid to regain the hour record that he had previously held in 2015. He has had a positive Covid-19 test, so the planned December 12th attempt at the Manchester Velodrome will now take place next year.
The current record was set by Belgium Victor Campenaerts in Mexico 2019.
The 26 year old National Cycling Centre's velodrome in Manchester is in urgent need of repair. It could lose major events if the work is not carried out.
The track helped produce Team GB stars, such as Sir Chris Hoy, dame Sarah Storey & Sir Bradley Wiggins.
