He spent almost 14 hours at the crease, as he helped secure a draw against Worcestershire. It's worth pointing out that he's still only 25, & still has time to resume what looked to be a promising International career, before it all went wrong. A player less familiar is Durham's David Bedingham who appeared last year as a Kolpak, & showed enough promise for Durham to sign his as an overseas. Already there are concerns from South Africa, who are losing good young players, & questioning what can be done to stop the drain on talent. Already he has shown an appetite for batting long with a mammoth 257 to add to his 180 not out. RE: County Championship 2021 - Boomerangutangangbang - 28-04-2021 11:24 In the main, some fascinating matches , with Northampton chasing down 355 in 79 overs against Glamorgan, & with overs to spare. Vasconcelos (185 no) & Keogh (126) adding 239 for the 3rd wicket. It was Northants 3rd highest successful 4th innings run chase. I gave a big build-up to the battle between Hampshire & Gloucestershire, with both sides trying to make it 3 wins from 3. The game didn't disappoint, with a match saving 10th wicket stand after being made to follow-on. Josh Shaw & Dominic Goodman, came together with 22 overs remaining,& a slender 11 run lead. They soaked up 106 balls in a 36 run partnership to carry their side to safety. A worthy mention for Warwickshire, who inflicted a first defeat for Essex in 22 matches. I might a well give a mention to Yorkshire's fightback victory over Sussex, after electing to bat & managing just 150. I was jumping around & shouting about half an hour ago as Yorkshire skipper Steven Patterson took the edge of Wayne Parnell's bat & it carried through to keeper Tattersall, who took an easy catch. Not an easy pitch to bat on, as much of the game was played in overcast conditions, with the bowlers on top throughout. Another great advert for our game. I believe that it will be using the camera feeds that have supplied the streaming of the matches so far this year. I guess that we may get some of the regular Sky commentary team, rather that the local BBC radio which can be a bit mixed, in terms of quality. |
