RE: The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power - Skyline - 07-10-2024 13:45

Overall I found this season slightly underwhelming - I found that this season didn't really kick into gear until Episode 7. It didn't meet the standards of the first season and it felt a bit clumsy in places, however the fight scenes, visuals and all of that sort of stuff was immense in it's presentation, though I still found it quite a long build up until something actually started to happen.

The big reveal of 'The Stranger' and his identity - I kinda knew that might be coming.

If there is a season 3, which looks almost certain, then I hope the writers stop dilly dallying around with the pace of this and get on with it!! - Less wasting time and more creativity to the point and hopefully they can fix the issues of previous seasons.

All that being said and done I did enjoy this, it is definitely worth a look (if you haven't seen it). I'm looking forward to a season 3 if it happens.

I think this season definitely could have been better, but I did enjoy it more than I thought I would. The good outweighed the bad imo for season 2.
Totally agree about season 3, they have set up a lot of things, they need to fix the pacing and get on with it. It has so much potential, often wasted.

There were too storylines going on at same time so for me it suffered and in places very predictable.
Season 3 they need less storylines so that we get stronger stories and also do more in fleshing out character development.

I read somewhere recently, that it's meant to be 5 seasons long, that may or may not affect the pacing.

I'm not a diehard Tolkien/LOTR fan, so i'm not sure how much they need to cover in seasons 3-5 but i can only really think of the 9 rings being handed out, the forging of the 1 ring, Numenor being destroyed and maybe the creation of the Shire - that doesn't seem a lot for 3 seasons of content.

Overall, I really like the show, it's nice to see things that were only alluded to in the main books and films and as Skyline said the visuals are always impressive.

I mentioned a month ago that it was at least going to be five seasons all tho it still needs to officially be renewed for season 3 which could be any day now.
