Vikings hmmmmmm, mind you Packers helped them out with a frustrated Rodgers

I thought Miami's signing activity during the off season paid off. They looked solid defensively and that, plus a disastrous second quarter from the Patriots with way too many mistakes, saw them close out a deserved win.

Yes, I agree with Kerr that Aaron Rodgers looked really fed up and struggled to get in the game. A crushing loss for Green Bay - failing to score in three quarters. Surprised

Elsewhere Kansas City look strong, posting a huge 44 - 21 win in Arizona.

Was expecting Chicago to be absolutely hammered to be honest. Chicago's kicker wasn't the only one who was having issues in wk1, so not too concerned about our kicker yet

Let's be honest, the Bears are poor, at best, so even after an opening loss, the Niners are in no way a contender. High expectation for this franchise, nothing short of a Super Bowl victory will do, now a Play-off berth looks doubtful. Already one of the Leagues best defenses, & match winning offensive weapons, Trey Lance now has the pressure of being the final piece in the jigsaw. A big call for the coach the name a young raw rookie QB. If the losses stack up how long before Jimmy G is back. I much prefer easing a QB rookie in, & building up game-time. Statistically a poor game for Lance, a bad interception, & missed many key passes. Somehow a 10 point lead turned into a 9 point loss, & the much lorded defense were also at fault, 12 penalties for 99 yards. the weather played a part, but this could be a difficult season for the 49ers.

Last night Russell Wilson return to Seattle for the first match of the session since his $245 million dollar move (over 5 years) to Denver.

But the suprise was that the Broncos slowed down play at the end of the match expecting their kicker to make a very long 64 yard field goal.
And of course he missed. bladewave

I saw an excellent play during the Seahawks vs Broncos game.

In the first quarter, Seattle QB Geno Smith received the ball, evaded two tackles, ran 10 yards and made a pass to Will Dissly for a wide open touchdown to open the scoring. It was a privilege to witness such an effective opportunistic offense.

I admired the skill needed to make such a play. Smile

^^ Geno displayed great awareness he avoided the blitzing middle-linebacker & stepped up to avoid the pressure from the outside. His run just about got him back to the line of scrimmage, getting his pass off before he incurred a penalty for an illegal forward pass.
Whilst working out of the shotgun affords a QB a little more time, a sack often results in a big loss of yardage, on this short yardage play it could have stalled the drive. Credit to the running-back with a decent block on the rusher, enabling Smith to step up.

So Chargers at Chiefs tonight. What's the smart bet?

Kansas City looked really strong last week, away at Arizona. Would it be right to assume that at home the Chiefs should be even stronger?

On the other hand, the Chargers won their home game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but can we consider the Raiders a higher calibre opposition than the Cardinals?

RE: NFL 2022-2023 Season - Boomerangutangangbang - 15-09-2022 19:03

^^ Chargers made hard work of beating the Raiders, who aren't great. Chiefs to win, but everything is pointing towards a close game.
