Judgement Eve or Judgement Day After don't really work.

Congratulations to Noppon Saengkham who has made a 147 maximum break in his 10-5 win over Andy Hicks.
Meanwhile Neil Robertson has duly completed a 10-2 demolition of Zak Surety to book his place in the Judgement day phase of qualifying.

Last year's surprise story Si Jiahui is in a final frame decider against Ben Mertens.
Si needed a snooker at 0-69 down in frame 18 which he duly got and snatched the frame by one point to force it all the way.

Edit: And Si got it done to win the final frame and earn his place in Judgement Day

Fu, Slessor, Dott, Perry and Hamilton all went out.

Jack Lisowski will play at The Crucible.
10-3 winner over Matthew Stevens.

Misery Maguire has also made it unfortunately but I will quickly move on from that Rolleyesannoyedbladewave

Jak Jones has beaten Zhou Yuelong 10-4 and is another winner on Judgement Day

Lyu Haotian is through with a 10-7 success against Jenson Kendrick

Stuart Bingham has qualified beating Louis Heathcote 10-8

Dominic Dale is back for another tilt at the home of snooker for the first time in ten years after beating He Guoqiang 10-8

Robbie Williams has caused an upset by beating Chris Wakelin in a decider to reach the main event

And finally on Judgement Day 1.......more agony for Mark Davis.
Defeated in a decider for the second year running.
This time it was Ricky Walden inflicting the misery and sealing his spot in the main draw on Thursday.

I can't wait for the draw on Thursday to see who they get in the first round at the Crucible!

Only the 2 centuries for Lisowski today, but lots of frame winning breaks to get a few of the top 16 shaking in their boots at the prospect of getting drawn against him.

Nice to see Maguire there as the Scottish can't rely on just John Higgins the season he's had. It would be a good draw for Higgins and Maguire if they get drawn against each other as both will believe they can win and be glad they didn't get a tougher draw, as well as guarantee a Scotsman will get through to the next round.

Lyu Haotian had a good start to the season but dropped off a bit in the second half. He'll be delighted he revived his season by getting to the Crucible.

I don't really expect Dominic Dale to progress much further but he's had a good season relative to his past few seasons, and nice to see him enjoying a bit of a revival.

On to Judgement Day Two.

Hossein Vafaei is the first man to qualify for the main draw with a commanding 10-5 victory over Jiang Jun.

Si Jiahui has swiftly seen off Wu Yize 10-4 to seal a return to The Crucible.

Angry Farmer David Gilbert returns to the home of snooker after defeating Xiao Guodong 10-6.

Jackson Page has knocked out Noppon Saengkham in a deciding frame.
And there is more decider drama playing out elsewhere too.....

Pang Junxu has battled past Chinese compatriot Cao Yupeng to progress to the main draw tomorrow. Elsewhere the tension is unbearable......

And how about this? Neil Robertson is OUT!! This is not a drill.
Neil Robertson is OUT. Jamie Jones has caused a gargantuan upset beating the Thunder from down under 10-9. WOW Surprised

Poor Scott Donaldson. He roared back from 2-7 down against Ryan Day to lead 8-7. But it was all in vain as the Welshman clinched victory in a final frame epic to reach the Crucible. Just one more place left......

Si looked like he might not make it at all in the previous round, so has done well to rally. What price being drawn with Brecel?

Xiao Guodong joined Zhou Yuelong in being somewhat surprise exits.

Just sums up Neil Robertsons form atm so up and down often down the last 18 months or so

RE: World Snooker Championship 2024 - Joannis - 17-04-2024 22:15

Si Jiahui was 4-0 down, but he won frame 5 on the black which launched a 10 frame winning streak, including 2 centuries, He's back at the Crucible to terrorize the top 16.

Jackson Page is continuing where he left off at the World Open. What a revelation he's been in the last couple of tournaments!

The name Jamie Jones looked like it was going to loom large in the world of snooker when he was 5-4 up in the morning session, but Robertson won 4 frames in a row at the restart and it looked like Jamie was heading home. After the interval, a century break from Jamie signaled his comeback and he got it to 8-8 then I had to stop watching it on Discovery Plus because the football started. Jamie's victory means no one in the top 16 has to worry about Robertson in the first round at the Crucible but that doesn't mean Jamie's going to be a soft touch.

The draw tomorrow morning is going to be random, so it doesn't matter if your name is Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump or if you're Luca Brecel the World Champion, you're not exempt from getting a tough draw. Any one of the top 16 can get drawn against any qualifier. It could be brutal!
