^^ West Indies applied themselves well with the bat, they were helped by the much easier conditions with minimal swing or seam movement & not a great deal of spin. The Hodge & Athanaze partnership was the stand-out, but it was a collective team effort.
Wood bowled like the wind with no luck. This match will become a one innings battle now.

That looks like a really handy lead for the West Indies. England had a good morning until the final partnership which added 71. Da Silva remained unbeaten on 82, Shamar Joseph hit Atkinson for 2 consecutive sixes in an entertaining knock of 33.
Woakes found movement with the new ball & was the pick of the bowlers finishing with 4-84.

The match is set up nicely, much will depend on which team get the upper hand in tomorrows first session. The West Indies will need to take wickets early, if Root & Brook can bat for an hour they will look to bat to tea & not much more. Getting bowled out will make matters simple as the timing of a declaration will be tricky on a fast scoring ground, taking wickets has proved hard work. I expect play to extend deep into day 5.

If the West Indies win this I think this will be their first win in England for quite some time. I reckon we have to be at least around 150 - 200 by tea then look to add another 150 tomorrow to really put the Windies under pressure. and I agree Root & Brook need to stay in to frustrate to bowlers and make use of the conditions to their advantage.

West Indies made a solid start of chasing an imposing total, captain Brathwaite led the way, but collapsed from 61-0 to 143 all out, with only Holder striking a few blows. Great to see Bashir take 5 after doing a steady job in the first innings. Contrasting hundreds from the Yorkshire lads Brook hitting 13 boundaries in his 109, with Root just 7.
Will Roots groin niggle offer Lawrence a chance on Friday, can Woakes & Atkinson go 3 Tests in short time, & more importantly will Wood be risked with more Tests to follow against Sri Lanka. Potts & Pennington will be keen to get at a West Indies line-up that has failed 3 out of 4.

I was switching between the cricket F1 and golf all day and must say some team talk stokes must have delivered
Whilst felt for any fans claiming a free ticket for tomorrow and then a few hours later the game was over
