as its a new hub you will have to sign in to your virgin media and adjust your parental settings again.
it could be the reason a lot of stuff is currently blocked.

all you can do is reduce the amount of tabs you have open at any 1 time. but even by default today's browsers take up .9(chrome) to 2.6 gigs (midori)

Have a look at this it may help. If you have another of the same type, and can get the cases open, try it in that.

you can disassemble the drive and try plugging it either into your computer using a sata cable and power connector or if you have usb3 connection on computer or laptop then you can used an adaptor like this

You need USB3 because USB3 is a powered connection usb 2 isnt if its a fairly new one ie last 4-5 years should be USB3
easiest way is just putting it into the PC and connect to motherboard
