RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - dirk362 - 14-06-2011 20:52 Does anyone know what happened to last nights show ? I got in from work just after 9, tuned in and just found adverts... We do have Lucy keeping us more than entertained tonight so that's all good. Just wondered about last night RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - mucker - 14-06-2011 21:21 (14-06-2011 20:52 )dirk362 Wrote: Does anyone know what happened to last nights show ? I got in from work just after 9, tuned in and just found adverts... There was a "problem with the rota", Lauren could not do the evening show and apparently they could not find a replacement . RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - HEX!T - 16-06-2011 21:02 just checking out there web stream and boy does it suck. the music is so loud its distorting. and the picture keeps freezing. RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - dirk362 - 18-06-2011 08:52 Well when we do have someone to watch and call (at least twice this week we didn't), the webstream isn't up to much of anything. Heidi gave us her usual brilliant show, yet it was effectively ruined due to constant freezing. After 10 minutes where it just stopped every 5 seconds or so, I gave up. Are there any plans to actually invest some time and money into this channel to bring it up to scratch in terms of output and providing an overall service that will bring back punters and viewers which in turn will generate more cash (offsetting the investment made) ? I don't like to moan as I'm sure running a channel can be hugely complex, time consuming and costly (I've no idea but it can't be cheap). But it does seem something needs to be done otherwise it risks just disappearing altogether... RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - dirk362 - 26-06-2011 09:55 I'm going to rant a bit about OSGs on ChatGirl TV... (Some background techno-blurb) To maintain a centred (screen safe) image we have 18 pixels lost on left, and 20 lost on right. There's also 4 on both top and bottom. So from a theoretical 1024x576 (DAR) image we are left with 986x568. If we discount for the moment that PAL doesn't actually deliver the full 576 scan lines as interlaced picture, of the 568 the on screen graphics start at 364, so mean as much as 204 lines have obscured by OSGs. That means over 35% of screen estate is lost to the OSGs. Now over a third of the screen seems to me to be a bit greedy ! Any plans to reduce or adjust these in any way ? Picture below gives an example whereby we'd have a fairly good view via the webstream (as OSGs are not present) but not via $ky. Hey I'm happy we have a webstream so don't assume I'm just moaning for the sake of it. But there are many many times the webstream just hasn't been working or it has but very poorly. And given the webstream resolution/quality and also that it's only 15fps and not the full 25fps, most of the time I will watch via $ky. But running a webstream can't be easy or cheap, so perhaps I should just shut my cake-hole and be a happy little viewer after all... RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - schmoo - 26-06-2011 10:20 Hi dirk, i've made this very point myself to ChatGirl numerous times. I made a similar post in the daytime thread, which included a cap much the same as yours! Let's hope they (finally) take some notice. RE: ChatGirl - Chat & Discussion - dirk362 - 26-06-2011 10:46 I realise that people will rationalise posts on this forum that are negative in tone are the exception and not to be taken too seriously. But if the producers/owners of this channel want to actually drive forward innovation/change and of course monetary income, then they need to take heed of some of these messages. I'd say ChatGirl TV is in my top 3 channels due to the approach they take overall and of course their rota of beautiful, sexy and fun young women. That said, I can only wave the flag for so long in terms of positive messages and posting vids so that other people can also gain that same level of appreciation of this channel. You've got a storming lady on the day time show at this very moment, yet I've not seen on her on the phone for ages - doesn't that tell you something about people's awareness of your service given where it's located on the EPG (sharing with Adult Channel, meaning only people with 'Free to view' capabilities can actually see your channel. Most others are rightly on 'Free to air' meaning no card is required). If $ky is the limiting factor in that they won't provide an extra EPG slot (or cost is prohibitive which is more likely), then at least have a talk with FreeSat and see if they're more reasonable. There is transponder capacity across the ones used for the Adult services on Astra/Eurobird 28.2/28.5 given the ratio of channels to bandwidth. ChatGirl TV turns one today - TDK2008 - 22-07-2011 06:01 I've posted this here should posters miss my thread in the ChatGirl TV Daytime area. Congratulations on ChatGirl TV's first year, it's one of if not my favourite babe channel and I hope it goes from strength to strength!
