RE: The Masters - Joannis - 16-01-2026 07:17 Judd restored the domination of the 6-2 scoreline, but Mark Allen could easily have gone 3-2 up. Allen led frame 5 68-19 before Judd made a last gasp 50 clearance to win it on the black. Judd won the next 3 frames more comfortably. He plays John Higgins in the semi-finals. RE: The Masters - Doddle - 16-01-2026 13:53 Triangle Face played on a bit long at the end even though he needed several snookers. I suspect it was less bloody-mindedness than frustration that the match had gone the way it had. RE: The Masters - Doddle - 16-01-2026 21:24 Xiao got a Wu'd awakening (ahem) RE: The Masters - Joannis - 17-01-2026 07:15 Thrilling match last night between Kyren and Robertson! Kyren made 2 centuries in going 4-1 up. Robertson made 2 centuries in a 4 frame winning streak that saw him go 5-4 up. Kyren made another century to level at 5-5. Kyren won a dramatic decider that could have gone either way. Kyren plays Wu Yize in the semi final. RE: The Masters - Doddle - 17-01-2026 13:37 I think about last month, when Robbo was very bullish after one win, but went little further; Kyren seemed quite emotional from his experience. Kyren seems to have bounced back well. Robbo seems to have learned nothing. Mind, I also note the afternoon lads had Parrott-Doherty on comms; the evening had Hendry-Virgo
RE: The Masters - Doddle - 17-01-2026 21:08 The Higgster again trailed 5-3, and again prevailed 6-5. RE: The Masters - Joannis - 18-01-2026 07:13 Another evening, another thriller, and the Warrior trailed 5-4 again, but again prevailed 6-5. Wu Yize led 5-4, but with the match at his mercy in frame 10 when he led 44-11, he missed an easy red and Kyren survived with a 46 clearance. Kyren sealed the deal in the decider with a 116 break. RE: The Masters - Doddle - 18-01-2026 13:40 They went on a lot about that "easy red" but I'm not convinced it was all that easy. Maybe he should have been in a better position/taken a different shot/etc - maybe he thought it was easy as it apparently looked. Anyway, he did well to push Kyren to need a decider. Also well done Kyren too. The Masters first showed his future ability, he's got a good story if he does win. Compared to "Old Man Still Winning". RE: The Masters - Joannis - 18-01-2026 22:35 No comeback from Higgins today. Kyren got the upper hand from 3-3 when he made consecutive centuries to go 5-3 up at the end of the first session, and he never looked back. 10-6 to Kyren. Consolation for John Higgins as he became the oldest person to become a finalist in a triple crown event. RE: The Masters - Doddle - 19-01-2026 13:30 It's a remarkable run, and winning it 20 years after his last time would have been astonishing, but the whole "he's the oldest" overtone seemed like they wanted an audience to throw hearing aids at him. If Ronnie does bother coming back, there's likely to be a few more years with "the class of '92" breaking these records. Also well done to Wilson; his final with Mark Allen really stands now as an omen of his future success (more than it does for Mark Allen, too). |
