I'd like to agree with you Juan but I can't. You are right on the clean up your act or else comment, however this has been going on now for a very long time and not just something that has happened overnight.

I don't see any change in the direction the channels are taking until at least after the next general election in 2015. Sorry it sounds grim but for as long as this current government remains there is not a cats chance in hell that the rules will ever relax.

We will still get some nights when some babes or channels push it more than the previous but ultimately no greater consistency will ever come out of it. We are stuck in a yoyo rollercoaster of a ride and the best we can really hope for is the occasional rare night where the babes and channels take it further than they have before.

I hope I'm wrong and we see babes going wild in 2014, hot 2 for 1's, legs spread open and no holds barr but that would be pure fantasist talk instead of seeing the reality that is currently presented in front of us.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Scottishbloke, I'm well aware of the effect Ofcom have had on the babe channels in the last five years, and I wasn't suggesting any kind of 'consistency' was returning. All I was saying is that S66 in particular had, how shall we say, let their guard down in terms of how they've allowed their girls to behave. The short time the American girl was on a few weeks ago (can't remember her name) resulted in some very decent and risque shows, in my opinion.

I just sensed from tonight's direction, that Ofcom may have quietly reminded them of the rules & regs.

Scottishbloke, I agree in principal, yet, regardless of what party is in government the tax payers quango will remain. Labour created this monster and we all waited with anticipation regarding the bonfire of the quango's as the tories promised, but ofcom was untouched and basically is now bigger than ever. I think a certain Mr Murdoch could have persuaded Mr Cameron in time, but the phone hacking by the papers certainly put an end to that as Cameron could no longer be too close to the circle of friends.

Unfortunately we just have to face the truth that the channels will never get back to where they were, which is a shame, will the channels survive, well I guess there will always be custom to an extent, so some will, some won't. The price wars in an indication to the lack of custom for some channels, but fan boys will always call their favourites wherever they are. The cheaper channels will pick up more passing custom.

I think certain channels will eventually move online completely, yet if certain websites keep ripping people off providing poor content, again they will lose custom and eventually call it a day.

The channels are what they are today and will be tomorrow, good shows, bad shows or complete rubbish, we just have to except the fact that ofcom have put the channels on the naughty step and the channels don't want to rock the boat and challenge the regulations. To them it's all about making money, if they are then they are certainly not going to do anything that could hurt their profit margins!

I remember Babestar TV very well and ofcourse sexstation when it used to air FTA on the telly back in the 2006 era. Both channels were going for it hammer and tongs if I remember rightly. Full frontal and all sorts of sex toys were used. Happy days Rolleyes

Fuck me, getting hold of these shows now is like gold dust. I still have them kicking around somewhere in the house on VHS back in the days when most of us just had SKY and when recordable DVD players were very expensive.

After reading Scottishbloke's post re. Babestar I decided to have a search for some footage. They really didn't give a monkey's, did they? Big Grin

So depressing to know we'll never see fta shows like that again.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 02-12-2013 20:10

Yes that was back in the days despite ofcom's heavy handed approach it was quite common for the channels and Babestar TV in particular to stick 2 fingers right up to ofcom. It was great when it lasted.

Will we ever see a show like that again FTA - No Cool

How long would the channel survive if so - A few months at best.

Ofcom wouldn't shut the channel down overnight but until censorship rules are changed then channel being revoked would be firmly on the cards.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Babestar had their license revoked not because of visual content, but because of persistent failure to comply with language rules.

Is there any truth in this?

RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 03-12-2013 19:32

Well yes and no - This link will give you a full break down of why Babestar TV had its licence revoked.

http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/enforcement/content-sanctions-adjudications/l4lrevocation.pdf

I will however say that aswell as the content being blue the language was also blue Blush

One night I tuned into babestar TV, (BTW - I tuned into Babestar TV most nights) RolleyesTongue the babe picked up the mic and I quote said "Our pussies are wet and we need fucked so give us a call boys"

Also it was rumored too but never proven that the show was infact pre-recorded hence the reason no real callers ever got through but again thats pure speculation and no substantial evidence ever came to light.
