They have come to the conclusion that the outbreak of Covid was spreading around the population there as early as the summer of that year.

Earlier than previous been stated.

This is more evidence in the lab leak theory.

So it's either coincidence, or that escaped from the Lab too Surprised

PCR tests are also used to detect swine fever...

Yes, i know. It's either coincedence that they had a Swine Fever outbreak, thus the test equipment was needed, or maybe the lab has an even bigger problem than many people suspect.

PCR tests have been around for years. The key thing is what they were being used to detect. China released the genetic sequencing of Covid in January 2020 after which lots of countries/companies began developing specific Covid PCR tests. Unless the source of the info that China had ordered a lot of PCR tests can substantiate what they were using them for I’d wait for official investigations. For example if our shambolic government had ordered pandemic level supplies of PCR tests to use in a flu pandemic (which they were expecting but did nothing to prepare for) we would simply say it was a sensible precaution.

Or there was no swine fever at all...

Would the outbreak occurred at a Wuhan farm that spread quickly and the Chinese said which could have got into the wet markets?
I know that the Coronavirus started with someone eating a bat but does SWINE FEVER have the abilitiy to jump from species to species or not? abnd if it does, does this mean that swine fever also got into the coronavirus genetic code which would have made it mutate and carry the corona virus code as well?

Either way I am beginning to wonder if that WHO investigation was even throrough enough and the Chinese kept back some information from them. It does amount that somwehere is likely some information missing that probably makes the whole coronavirus jigsaw fit together. And how can we be sure ther Chinese co operated & handed everything over to thr WHO? It's bit like when Hans Blix was investigating the Iran nuclear thing and the Iranians weren't cooperating.
It's got that same feeling.

A lot of people are getting positive lateral flow tests, but when they follow this up with a PCR test they are proving negative.
These cases are all in the South West.

It's possible that there could be a faulty batch of the self test kits or that there's a new strain of covid which the PCR test doesn't pick up.

But as the lateral flow test is only about 60% effective, my moneys on a faulty batch.

^^ The lateral flow tests are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. All the way through the pandemic we've had countless people isolating unnecessarily isolating because of a test that's no better than a 50/50 shot.
I'm no scientist, but I believed that a lateral flow was only good at picking up high levels of infection. That doesn't explain all the false-positive results. It must be easy to track down faulty batches, but more should be done to prevent these faults, we've been at this a while now.Rolleyesannoyed

I’m halfway through the book Premonition by Michael Lewis.

It’s excellent. Tells the story of a handful of scientists in America that tried to raise the alarm and mobilise a proper pandemic response.

The amazing thing is that George W Bush — burned by 9/11, with Katrina on his desk — read a book about the 1918 pandemic and decided that America needed a pandemic response plan. Within 2 months, he’d secured $7 billion from Congress to set it up. By 2008, America was leading the world in advance planning for a pandemic.

The Obama administration didn’t discard it, but didn’t advance it either. Then the Trump administration took a sledgehammer to it.

In January 2020, all the scientists that were involved in preparing that original plan were screaming from the rooftops that ‘it has started’. One of them — by then the number 2 public health officer in California — was told to stop using the word ‘pandemic’ and she was banned from all senior meetings, because ‘her charts were scaring people’.

Good book. Highly recommended.
