It just pisses me off the amount of people STILL who haven't got one vaccine in various parts of the UK excluding the ones who are exempt the daily cases would have been down to at least half the amount if they could just get it done

Couldn't resist that little edit Big Laugh

At least we have the wise old Owl known as Jeremy Hunt to guide us. He regularly spouts pearls of wisdom while conveniently forgetting that he was the Health Secretary who decided not to update the PPE Stockpile we kept in case of a....err... Oh yes, a pandemic!

Jeremy's a clever chap . We are fortunate to have him

These cases are all in the South West.

It's possible that there could be a faulty batch of the self test kits or that there's a new strain of covid which the PCR test doesn't pick up.

But as the lateral flow test is only about 60% effective, my moneys on a faulty batch.

A colleague had a +ve LFT result last week but got the all clear with a follow up PCR test and an antibody test came back negative.. Due to medical issues he's been advised not to have the vaccine

We're definitely not in the South West Wink

I don't see any headlines about that so are you just repeating the previously announced news that an inquiry will start in March 2022

Forum Members may I introduce you to Covid Variant 4.2 which is being described as Delta Plus. It's said to have a 10% transmissibility advantage over Delta and now has reached 8% of new cases reported in the UK.

Oh and we are world leaders in the number of cases of it although it is reported to have been detected in 29 countries so far.

The numbers lately (and continuing) are horrendous and yet, our govt ministers say there will be no change to the current rules, when - going back a few months - and the numbers were at or close to the current trend(s) - the restrictions were tighter! someone needs to explain to me the thinking now?? Have they decided just to 'live with it' and accept that those still losing their fight to it, are just the 'unlucky ones'??

The media seemingly are now reading out the figures with an element of 'pandemic fatigue' also! It is also like they have reached the conclusion that more figures will add to peoples anxiety?? Maybe, but here to, there is an element of unlucky but 'you missed the boat of acknowledgement of your life and the impact on those around you of your passing' I am uneasy about the whole thing I have to say!

No one even seems to be enforcing the current rules.

I take London Underground most days and those of us wearing masks seem to be a distinct minority now.

It pisses me off, to be honest. It seems like a switch was flipped around mid-August when those people working from home started going back to the office. It’s as if key workers were still doing their part, and they’re now being let down by the rest of us.

By contrast, I was in Italy and France for a spell in September, where cases are lower than they are here, but the ‘green pass’ is still very much in effect and everyone is still masked up indoors.

Couldn't agree more!! We are letting them down, particularly when they are saying that the rules have to change with the numbers as they are, and the Govt is adamant that they won't
