Official SNP policy is to abstain in votes on English-only matters.

Thats not what sturgeon said in the campaign she said that the SNP would vote on certain matters that indirectly effected scotland such things as NHS funding south of the border.

Actually think Scotland should be given full fiscal autonomy in exchange for English Votes for English Laws and should only be allowed to Vote on Forign and Defence matters

And we know the SNP's position on Trident, don't we?

There will be cameos, no doubt, but I'm going to miss the Wallace and Gromit cartoons ! laugh

I have no problem if Scotland are given full fiscal autonomy BUT has to mean the Barnett formula is torn up as well. If the SNP want to fund free prescriptions and no University fees then fine but they should raise the money to pay for it not English taxpayers. Can we then please also have equality for England, Wales and NI oh and as a condition Defence is funded centrally so Scotland sends money to the centre and we keep Trident in Scotland. Big Grin

I also think Cameron should consider having a Scottish Secretary from the SNP

RE: General Election Vote - terence - 09-05-2015 11:39

they (the tories) can also count on 10 votes from the unionists over here, maybe 11 if you count the unionist independent silva hermon. labour can count on 3 from the sdlp. and the shinners are giving their 4 seats to nobody! Smile

RE: General Election Vote - Charlemagne - 09-05-2015 11:42

^And don't forget the speaker and his assistants don't vote

Do the MP'S still have pairing for votes?

Worth pointing out that SNP sucesses didn't give the Tories a majority, they may have reduced Labours seats considerably but still wouldn't have been enough to stop posh boy Cameron's smug smile. If anything it was the collapse of the LibDem showing, most of their seats going to Conservatives after Cleggs sell out of Lib Dem principles last time their voters couldn't vote for them again. So thanks a bunch Nick.
