WWF heavyweight championship match(WWF Superstars,Sept '85)
Hulk Hogan( c )vs Randy Savage
A massive and athletic Hulk Hogan always had his best matches on US soil against Savage and this effort was another good showing.Savage's pre-match routine was mesmerising, building massive heat before they even locked up,his early psyche out tricks were also exceptionally effective,crawling under the bottom rope and intimidating the marks at ringside in a fashion just not seen in today's WWE.
Once they got going,Hogan dominated for at least 10 mins before Savage cut him off using his manager Elizabeth as a human shield.Savage took over but missed the big elbow from the top allowing Hogan to hit an elbow of his own for the clean and popular win.They went on to have better matches but as a starting point,this match even without any build up was very enjoyable.
(On a Sad note Savage,Elizabeth,ref Joey Morella and his father,commentator Gorilla Monsoon who called the action,have all passed away)

Tyler bate vs Pete dunne UK championship NXT Takeover. Christ the yank reviewers losing there shit over this match calling it match of the year. Fucking awesome match though

Match of the year is pushing it in my opinion but it was excellent.

Sting and Brian Pullman vs Rick Rude and Stunning Steve Austin(WCW Saturday Night,08/01/94)
A basic but heated TV match that featured great exchanges from the freshly split up,Hollywood Blondes.Marred by a the cheap finish which involved Colonel Rob Parker booting Pillman in the head that allowed Stunning Steve to sneak in for the pin.

definately wwe match of the year prob only Cena vs Styles at Royal Rumble prob close or could beat it but the fact it was a 20 and a 23 year old compared to 2 veterans like Cena and styles. It was definately a advert for the UK championship though the fact that an american crowd was chanting UK and Fight forever made the atomsphere .
only main roster match that will prob compare to it will be nakamura vs Ziggler
