Downing St mentioned that she was in an urgent meeting with Sir Graham Brady. But he was in the House, not at Downing St.

She was there in the house about 30 Mins before the statement so whatever it was could have waited

I mean if it had been whats happening on the Belarussian border or taking a call to some forign leader then could understand not going at short notice

He wouldn't have been at Downing St, as the meeting was held in a room at Parliament.

It wasn't urgent either. On the contrary Downing St said the meeting was 'pre-planned'.

I have sneaking suspicion that it was just a cover story so that she didn't have to show up

wow
55% of Tories want Truss to resign
is it enough to oust her?
then what happens?

The country needs some cabinet ministers with a backbone to resign and force this lame PM out. She just isn't up to the job and has been found out.
She will end up with mental issues if she stays.

I think half her problem is she has the appeal and personality that doesn't sit well with public at large. I wouldn't compare her to a lettuce, it's more like a pickled onion that's been half eaten. Tongue
The other half of the problem is the Tories know they are onto a massive defeat whenever the GE happens, and they just haven't got a person in their ranks apart from Mordaunt or Sunak that in all probability could turn things round.
But her downfall was, she couldn't get her budget through the commons and has ended costing her pretty much all she stood for.
