I despair at distance runners sometimes
. Mens 5000m heats one of which was utter carnage.20 starters which is way too many anyway but that doesn't even begin to do justice to the nonsense that played out.
Nobody took the initiative and all just jogged round lap after lap so all 20 were bunched up pretty much all the way through strewn across 3 or 4 lanes.
And hey presto comes a final lap burn up with multiple fallers due to pushing and shoving. Three non qualifiers ended up being advanced to the final including Brit George Mills.
So we have 20 runners in the final - FFS
.I would have advanced nobody and said to the fallers "Tough shit. You were all equally responsible for making it the sort of race it was so don't come running to the officials like cry babies when it all goes tits up".
That sort of nonsense really boils my piss.
Run the race properly or fuck off.

Mens Sprint qualifying at the Velodrome.
World record broken a few times already. Hamish Turnbull with a sound qualification already and there goes Jack Carlin slotting just in front of Turnbull in the qualifier rankings. Harrie Lavreysen predictably the fastest qualifier with a world record.

I see they've chosen a blue outfit for the Derny Bike Rider in the Keirin. Looks a bit better than the all black "Gimp on a Bike" outfits they've had in the past

Another solution: - Warn all the finalists before going on to the track:- - If there is any repeat of shoving or pushing they are all instantly disqualified and placed equal 20th while Gold goes to TEAM GB & Snooks automatically

TBH there probably are/were very many actually liked the "Gimp On A Bike" outfit
