I too think Del Potro will meet Djokovic in the final.
But I am not putting any money on it as my bet money has been spent on the ladies tournament already. Bet result still pending.

RE: Andy Murray - Regenerated - 08-09-2016 00:40

I won't be putting any more money on the tournament for the next two days either, will save it till the weekend after I've got paid again. Then can have a double on the finals. But I'll wait and see who it is before I part with another £20.

As for Murray, this is a disappointment certainly, but there's still good opportunities for the remainder of the year. There's a masters event, the world finals in the O2 and the remainder of the Davis Cup.

But it's still a bloody annoying result to get back home to seeing him fail in the quarter-finals in New York again. annoyed

I just hope he can finally get it done at Melbourne Park in the new year after so many near misses there.

RE: Andy Murray - Regenerated - 08-09-2016 00:53

I agree with you about the new year Snookered. I think he'd love to get the Australian Open title after all the final losses there and surely he must already have one eye on the end of January in Melbourne.

I think there's still plenty of opportunities for more slams, Djokovic doesn't look as sharp recently has he has been. I'm sorry for ranting, but it's such a let down to see him fail in New York again - especially as the aforementioned Djokovic in my opinion isn't as match fit and this does seem like a golden chance missed.

Just fed up now, put a real downer on the evening. annoyed Sad

An understandable and heartfelt rant though Wink.
I am not entirely surprised at Murray's exit for the reasons expressed in my opinion earlier and as I say think it would have been tough for Murray to get past for instance Del Potro/Wawrinka and Djokovic. Murray is at his best when at his most serene imo.
I have not had that feeling of serenity from Murray in New York this year. I hope that serenity returns for the majors in 2017.
The calm, assured, clear thinking Murray is always the one I feel most comfortable watching.
The Murray who expends emotional energy getting narky with himself, the circumstances, the umpire or even his own box is not what I like to see at all.
Nishikori handled everything better than Murray tonight and came out on top.

I definitely believe Murray has more slam titles in him for sure.
And Djokovic has to suffer a downturn at some point.
However there is plenty to look forward to in 2016 still.

It is disappointing to see Murray lose for sure and it has left me feeling rather down in the dumps too Sad.
But he will be back Wink.

Ooh er.
Del Potro lost as well. Hmmmmmm.
No advantage for Murray in recovery time for the Davis Cup then.
Even more pleased I didn't put money on it now Wink.

Murray has won the China Open by beating Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 7-6

RE: Andy Murray - Snooks - 16-10-2016 16:10

Andy Murray is the Shanghai Masters champion for a 3rd time after a 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 victory over Roberto Bautista Agut in the final. Murray has now closed the gap on Novak Djokovic to 915 points in the world ranking list.

RE: Andy Murray - Snooks - 30-10-2016 17:19

Andy Murray has followed up his success in Shanghai with another tournament win this time in the Erste Bank Open played in Vienna.
He beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 7-6 (8-6) in the final to further close the gap on Djokovic at the top of the world ranking list. Three tournament wins in a row now for Murray on the ATP Tour.
He now heads to France for the Paris Masters.

if Murray wins in Paris and Novak fails to make final, Murray become World Number 1
