RE: *Official Football Thread* - m100 - 02-04-2009 09:01 lol, shows how much i hate him, all reason goes out of the window where he's concerned - i think the next england player near him that day should have gone in two footed knee high and accepted the sending off - to be honest I was surprised no one did. RE: *Official Football Thread* - Dreamlander - 02-04-2009 11:12 What I never understood about the Maradona handball is that he always claims it was the 'Hand of God'! and no one from any church batted an eyelid or 'disowned' him for blaming his cheating on The Almighty!! Thank God I'm an athiest!! ![]() ![]() Dreamlander RE: *Official Football Thread* - whizzer - 02-04-2009 14:07 m100 Wrote:I despise Maradona as much as anybody (probably more to be honest) he should have been banned for life for the hand But the usual punishment for deliberate handball is a yellow card, not a liftetime ban. And that was the reason he scored that wonder goal, because everyone was trying to hurt him and not to get the ball. RE: *Official Football Thread* - Sylar - 02-04-2009 14:59 The Newcastle fans are out on the streets outside St James... anyone else getting de ja vu? I remember when Alan Curbishley got ousted from the West Ham manager job and a Hammers fan emailed into SkySports News saying "The reason we're not protesting outside our ground like Newcastle fans do, as that we have jobs to go to!" RE: *Official Football Thread* - Timbo - 02-04-2009 15:26 Always the same no matter who they get for that job, there all excited cos they think there gonna win everything next season ![]() RE: *Official Football Thread* - Gaz "AV1" Aston - 02-04-2009 16:29 Newcastle fans really make me laugh......a few months ago they were all about sacking the board now with Shearer in charge they are gonna win the Premiership! Get real Geordies! Alan Shearer is not the solution to your current problems! RE: *Official Football Thread* - Mister Gummidge - 02-04-2009 16:47 The solution to Newcastle's problems lies several years in the past. They should never have gotten rid of Sir Bobby. The man had a magnificent eye for a player and a brilliant way at drawing the best out of people, so he was able to keep Newcastle near the top of the table without spending obscene amounts of money. To get Newcastle out of trouble now will take several seasons and tens of millions of pounds that Ashley won't invest. Even if they stay up this season -not a nailed on certainty- then they're facing several seasons in the dogfight. |
