Because that's where it's filmed, so really it should be all of them.

i would imagine it would be the iron islands. bit shitty leaving us out! (maybe they united ireland and i missed it!) Smile

The scenes for the civil war between Lannisters and Starks are said to be filmed there ,also River Run , The Dreadfort ,The Vale and the road out of Kings Landing (one with trees forming a tunnel).
Not sure about Winterfell ,but all the above have scenes filmed on location in various parts of Northern Ireland .It's now one of Northern Ireland's Tourist Boards main successes ;
Game of Thrones Tours .
P.S. The harbour in The Iron Islands scenes is filmed there too .

^I believe that all the interiors are filmed at the studios in Belfast.
Most of the South of the Wall locations in Westeros are filmed in Northern Ireland.
The Dome locations have been filmed in Spain.

Presume Ireland/Northern Ireland has a separate promotion for the launch of s4 on DVD & bluray tomorrow because hmv in Ireland/Northern Ireland are separate to hmv in England, Wales & Scotland

RE: Game Of Thrones - terence - 15-02-2015 10:25

^why is hmv n.ireland different to the other hmv's in the uk?

RE: Game Of Thrones - Rammyrascal - 15-02-2015 10:35

^^
Can only think a separate company runs hmv in Ireland/Northern Ireland and another runs hmv in England, Scotland and Wales

I know George RR Martin is frightfully busy but I'll be damn glad when the new book gets released. Originally it was slated for a 2013 release then was delayed until 2014 and now looks set sometime this year. At the rate its going the tv series will have caught up with the books and then we will have to wait for both book and series. Not a question to ask Mr Martin though, he's a tad touchy about the subject Smile

The tv series doesn't always follow the books faithfully .So they'll just pad tv series out more and slow the overall plotlines down .Or make their own up .

With the odd exception most of it follows the books but certain areas have been adapted or missed out completely. The Bran storyline for example was shortened and advanced massively. He won't be in this series apparently as they will concentrate on other storylines.
