KP's dismissal will be a pivotal moment not only for this Test but also for the series

Day 3 is going to be the most important day of the series and could be the day which seals our fate in this series. Whether we can survive and win from what is an impossible position or we go 3 - 0 down which I have to say that we must be out of the top three test team positions.

Ian Bell has been always the pivotal wicket. The addition of Bresnan to this team ensures this line up bats quite deep and should be able to get to the 350 mark one hopes and keep us in the game. The old ball still has about 30-35 overs to go so they should look to move the score along quite quickly before the new cherry is due.

Avoid self inflicted dismissals.
That is the lesson both of this innings, this match and indeed the series.
If the England batsmen bat sensibly and pick the right shots to the right balls they give themselves a chance.
Simples Wink.

Not a great morning for England. Just more of the same. 251 all out and lunch is being taken. A great session for Australia having taken 6 wickets for 71.

The whitewash is on now, the Ashes are gone. There has to be a deep and long inquiry into this totally shambolic tour and some deep and probing questions need to be asked of the most senior players on this tour why they haven't performed and I would look again at the whole idea of central contracts of those involved. I wouldn't pay any of those contracts out if it was performance - related for this disaster.
Let's face it, we are now no longer one of the best teams in test cricket. How we are being beaten out of sight by what is an ordinary Australian team is beyond me.

Just a matter of waiting for Australia to declare with a lead of 450-500 & give themselves 5 sessions to bowl England out.

The way we are presently playing they could do it easily in two maybe three!! Even if we make changes for the next one I don't see how we can stop the rot.

I think it is just a case of when you thought it could not get any worse it did. Central contracts and the majority of this England team have served us very well over the last few years but agree lessons will need to be learnt and some changes made. The team for whatever reasons have vastly underperformed on this tour.
