It's a weight of numbers thing. If, say, half the NHS staff are off self isolating with Covid, then you'd only need half the Covid hospitalisations to put us in a similar position to last winter. That's obviously a simplification, but you get my drift.

And it's not just The NHS, Winsaw has already pointed out the effect on the trains.

Rampant Covid will fuck the economy just as much as a lockdown, but with more deaths.

As usual, no plan in place from the govt.
Whatever you think of Labour's plan, agree with it 100%, 50% or disagree with it 100%, at least they have a plan.
And right he is!! Shouldn't even be a question posed in the first place. An obvious answer!

Exactly.

It’s the speed of transmission that its frightening, even if the rate of hospitalisation is low. A small percentage of a large number is still a large number and NHS capacity has an upper ceiling — which, as you say, reduces even further if a high proportion of NHS staff catch it as well.

I just can't see it, as think he knows it will end him as PM as his party would get rid of him over it , plus most of the cabinet know they are fucking useless and only there as Bojos mates so know they will be gone as well just can't see them voting to end there political time at the top

I can see it either for the same reason. Boris & the Tories know it will end them in power as they'll get a massive backlash from within the party & from the public

The prob now even with the party stuff too, whatever decision they make, they're screwed, if they bring in restrictions, public not happy, rebels will kick up a fuss, poss no confidence etc but if the govt don't do anything and cases keep going higher, more people in hospital, more deaths, they're going to get slated by the public, papers and the non rebels.
They're in a mess, a huge mess with everything - covid, brexit, parties, sleeze etc, all of their own doing and there is no real way out.

Piers Corbyn was arrested this morning after a video of him at an anti vaxx/Covid restrictions rally in London yesterday emerged. It seems that in the video he encouraged attendees to see how their MP's voted on the restrictions this week and if they voted yes then to go to their offices and burn them down. He also urged the crowd to “hammer to death those scum who have decided to go ahead with introducing new fascism”

Nice family the Corbynsannoyed

Not nice but not arrest worthy in my opinion. always concerning that there's so many people that want others to get locked up just because they said a few words.
Not exactly fascism what is happening but it's on that slope. Strange times we're living in when lefties are annoyed that the right wing government aren't being authoritarian enough. speaks volumes though...

As I say this is why it was important data as the first to cover all age groups, yes there are people older than 30 in SA lol,
Oops, I didn't read your post right. So what the panic in our capital, are they making it up Huh

The problem is it's forcing huge numbers to isolate, for example why they are running out of ambulance crew 99% of them will be getting no more than a bad cold but it still taking them out of circulation for 10 days this is more of a problem than the covid itself

I don't think it matters to be honest. Most people i know have had the jabs in different arms and they've still been knocked for 6. Even those who've had 2 doses of Pfizer already have been hammered by the 3rd.

It was a personal choice to have all my jabs in my left arm, I have a really nasty scar on my right arm, and I hate it when people ask what the fuck happened to your arm.
