All the other nations of the UK and countries abroad are bringing in tougher restrictions. However England isn''t.

Sky news were suggesting that England were the placebo. It should be easy to compare the cov-id rates in the other home nations and compare then to England's rate.
If deaths are a lot higher, or hospitals overun Boris is going to have hell dropped on him. annoyed

We have restrictions in place for Hogmanay, our new rules came into effect on boxing day, so most events are cancelled, which is sensible.
With me no longer drinking, I'll be having snacks, watching the bells, then buggering off to bed at one(ish), so meh. lol.

Even if the early data about the new variant does end up being true, with it being more transmissible, but milder, is it really worth risking...

Boris dawdling as per fucking usual Rolleyes

I know the Channels are pretty dire these days but surely you're not that desperate? laugh

Fair point, must be the fever I don't have Big Laugh

Speaking of which, the whole gov/nhs info is still hopelessly out-dated, still asking for the 3 main symptoms, fever, continuous cough, and loss of taste or smell, none of which are common with omicron.
Like most folk, I had basic cold symptoms, for me mainly runny nose and a tickly throat, giving an intermittent, not continuous cough.

I know it's christmas, but surely someone somewhere can sit at a pc for two minutes and update the online resources to reflect the current reality.

Or you could always have your Hogmanay celebrations south of the border. Newcastle has suddenly taken a lot of bookings for New Year's Eve.

No, these models are an insane attempt at weirdo experts trying to get their weird way. Case numbers have become the highlight of some peoples day, sad bastards. Turn the pissing news off and enjoy your life.

Hospitalisations shouldn't get too much focus either unless you have to be there, this country goes to A&E over a stubbed toe. And deaths "with" a virus with no proof as the cause of death for many of them? lol

Boris is far more concerned about holding on to his job as PM by not upsetting his own anti restriction MPs in the Commons. He will wait until it becomes completely unavoidable before implementing further restrictions.

Which means he will do it far too late.
Power is all.

he then has someone to blame when it goes tits up thats his style

the scary thing is the number of children being hospitalised with omicron in both the UK and the US which is a worrying thing especially with kids expected to go back to school next week
