This Thread seems a bit dead at the moment. Right so if you think Ofcom are bad you might want to look further to Australia. I did a google search just out of curiosity to see if down under then had the equivalent to Babestation in the name of maybe something along the lines of Aussie Babes. Well they did try to get one started but it never got off the ground due to even tougher regulations than our friends ofcom enforce on our channels.

Very bizarre as the Aussies have got a pretty laid back attitude to nudity going by the number of nude beaches they have in their country Rolleyes

Babestation did broadcast Bikini Babes AU to Australia fairly recently for a few months but it was a stream of the Dayshow to them which was during their night. I had a number of calls where I was in a queue behind randy Australians just in from the pub frustrated that the girls were clothed and restricted to daytime chat. Heard guys cut off more than once for telling Danni Levy what they wanted to do with her even though she was telling them it was flirty chat only.

I always used to think the Aussies were an open minded crowd with beaches full of fit babes in microscopic bikinis and uninhibited strippers in the bars, but it seems running a farm so vast it is 3 days drive to the neighbours in a harsh and unforgiving climate favours a hard working no frills mindset. Its different when they go abroad. Hope that hasn't upset anyone.

lol far from it mate. there even more repressive with there media than we are.
i dunno how many times i have seen video games get banned for nudity but the censor is quite willing to allow extreme violence.
the phrase "no sex were ex british comes to mind". and dont get me started on how much there censoring the internet.
australia and newzeland have become the testing grounds for tyranny dressed in the guise of protecting the populations morals.

ATVOD rules on adult services

UK video-on-demand regulator ATVOD has ruled that two adult services have breached statutory rules put in place to protect children.

The regulator ruled that Daisy Rock UK and She Bang TV allowed under 18s to access content viewable on-demand by allowing free, unrestricted access to videos and images and by making full-length videos available to any visitor who paid a fee.

ATVOD said that the operator of Daisy Rock UK subsequently put its content out of reach of children, but had appealed with Ofcom against a separate ATVOD ruling that its service falls within the scope of the statutory rules.

The operator of She Bang TV failed to become fully compliant in accordance with a timetable set by ATVOD. The service provider has therefore been referred to Ofcom for consideration of a sanction.

If the UK Government put half as much effort into the real issues of the day other than trying to place sanctions and ban anything that is harmless erotica then we'd be at peace with the world right now.

I don't see any change in policy towards ofcom or censorship after the General Election result. All the major party's are in agreement over this agenda. Just finished watching Ali G Indahouse, unless we get somebody like him running for Government then I'm afraid we're stuck in repressive Britain Huh

shebang may call themselves shebang tv but there a cam show so dont fall under the remit.if they find out they do or atvod decide they do then shebang would be wise to appeal straight away in court rather than in tribunal at ofcom.
that way atvod and ofcom will have to prove actual harm done.
coz it looks to me like there trying to regulate the web and thats beyond there remit as far as im aware and looks to me like there going for easy targets to fill there coffers rather than upholding standards.

^^^ Shebang also provide recordings of previous shows, which is streaming video content which is what ATVOD regulate, and it sounds like it is that content that has been investigated, not the live cam shows.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - bigglesworth - 14-02-2015 10:58

^^^ Yes it has to be. According to the report from eccles the investigation concerned "content viewable on-demand".

For the regulations to apply the content must be television like, and it is debatable whether recordings of a live sex show qualify. It does not compete with broadcast tv.
