Michel Platini is attending a Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing today to appeal against his 90 day suspension, as he seeks to get back into the election for a new FIFA leader on 26 Feb. CAS has promised a decision on his appeal by Friday "at the latest."

Platini has failed in his bid to have his provisional ban from football lifted. CAS said the FIFA Ethics Committee's verdict is expected on 21 December anyway, which is only 10 days away, so they saw nothing unfair in Platini being banned until then.

Blatter has said he will appeal against his ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Platini is expected to follow suit.

Blatter's speech is hilarious...!! Does he really think that it's okay to have been taking bungs for all these years; and only cry about having been caught due to a couple of greedier peeps he took into his confidence; ie Jack Warner, who was rather less subtle about hiding his own bungs, leading the trail back to Blatter.
I cannot go that far back with the politics of football for obvious reasons, but I've always known that Blatter was both anti-England, and a crook....? Does anyone want to fill in more of the background for me..??
