Pakistan bowler Mohammad Abbas has signed to play six matches in the County Championship of the 2025 season for Nottinghamshire. Could be an extremely useful acquisition.

Jonny Bairstow has been appointed as captain of Yorkshire in the County Championship , following in the footsteps of his late father David who skippered the side between 1984-1988.

Really proud of Worcestershire today.
An unbelievable effort to draw the match at Somerset having been bowled out for 154 and then seen the hosts rack up a gigantic 670/7.
A herculean performance from an array of batters helped Worcs to 485/9 off 200 overs to secure the draw. Snooks stands to applaud.

Dismal batting from Worcestershire.
Pretty disastrous in both innings.
A game they best quickly forget and move on from but the bowling is not very potent either.

^^ You've got a really decent allrounder from Yorkshire who I was disappointed to see leave our club after not being able to establish himself as a regular.
His 73 in the first innings which was well supported by the lower order enabled the Pears to almost double their score from 6 down which quickly became 7.
Then he flattened Essex with 6-19 & match figures of 9-53.
