It is unfortunate for big Mick. I thought they'd have hung on to him. I like him, he is a bit of an odd ball, but he is old school and builds strong teams and plays the game how it should be. There are worse managers out there in arguably better jobs.
Wolves will find it tough to replace him as there isn't many who have that experience of a relegation scrap. The players ought to shoulder some blame. He has shown a lot of faith in and worked wonders at the club from top to bottom. He isn't one to piss and moan about tight budgets either.
I think fan power won over in the end

I was there at the game yesterday, and it was a total annihilation. West Brom could and should have won by even more. It could have been 4-0 at half time, and another five on top of that at full time.
Its always sad when a manager loses his job, all the more so when such a highly respected manager as Mick McCarthy undoubtdedly is. Seriously though, enough is enough. It wasn't just yesterday, and it wasn't just that it was against West Bromwich Albion. A pasting like that has been coming for a long while now this season - I know - I've been to all home games and most away games.
Yes, the dismissal is a reaction to the fans protests, but I really think there was no way back after that, wether the fans had been protesting outside the ground or not.
I also think that the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Their attitude yesterday was shocking. After going behind for a second time, they gave up. As a proud supporter of the gold and black, I found their surrender in the second half totally unacceptable.
I want to thank Mick and wish him all the best. He's done a great job for us.
Oh and they can get rid of that donkey Roger Johnson too. Shocking waste of money.

Llewellyn Charles "Alan" Curbishley is reported to be sniffing after the job..
RE: Football Banter - Money_Shot - 13-02-2012 19:48
Curbishley was another name I did think of but wasn't sure what he was up to these days. It has been a while. He has plenty of relegation experience, with Charlton and West Ham.
Was also trying to think of some other faces, O'leary ? Mind you the Villa connection would kill that...
What about any old Wolves players?

Over here in Ireland the rumour is Roy Keane is being lined talk about irony
RE: Football Banter - Money_Shot - 13-02-2012 20:15
Ha, that is ironic! I can't imagine he'd get another shot at a Premier Greed side any time soon would he? After his Ipswich performance he'd be lucky yo get a job at all.
