RE: Golf - Doddle - 25-07-2024 13:18 Schauffele deserved his win, I thought. RE: Golf - Snooks - 15-08-2024 18:27 The FedEx playoffs have started today with The St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. Big tournament in its own right but even more significant with implications for progression to the next playoff event. Olympic silver medallist Tommy Fleetwood has started well with a -4 round of 66. Former Olympic champion Justin Rose matched that score in a solid start. Scheffler and Schauffle have just begun their opening rounds. RE: Golf - Snooks - 16-08-2024 20:21 Some impressive scoring in round two at TPC Southwind. Scottie Scheffler followed up a first round 66 with a second round 65 to reach -9. Hideki Matsuyama hit a blistering 64 to go to -11 overall while Denny McCarthy and Sam Burns rattled in second rounds of 63 to leave them at -11 and -10 respectively. Justin Rose has been super steady so far posting successive rounds of 66 to leave him 3 shy of the current lead at -8. Shaping up to be an excellent weekend in Memphis. RE: Golf - Snooks - 18-08-2024 00:10 Hideki Matsuyama will take a five shot lead into the final round in Memphis after another stellar round of 64 took him to -17. Nick Dunlap sits on -12 after a 66 while Viktor Hovland is on -11 following another 66. The campaigns of Scheffler, Burns, McCarthy and Rose all stalled somewhat to varying degrees with the World number one Scheffler best placed of the four at -10. It was a day of frustration for him and many others as tempers frayed around tees and greens in the searing heat. RE: Golf - Snooks - 18-08-2024 22:03 Incredible drama at TPC Southwind in a final round of twists and turns. Hideki Matsuyama looked to be cruising to victory at -19 before dropping 4 shots in 4 holes to collapse to -15. Xander Schauffle shot a blistering round of 63 to set a clubhouse target at -15. But Viktor Holland was on the charge and roared his way to -16 before promptly dropping a stroke on the 17th hole to fall back. Matsuyama steadied himself and crucially birdied 17 to regain the lead. Down to the last hole and needing just a par to claim tournament victory. He duly held his nerve really well to win the title by two strokes after a closing birdie. Fantastic final round to watch. RE: Golf - Snooks - 01-09-2024 21:00 GB and Northern Ireland have claimed a rare win in the Curtis Cup beating the USA 10.5-9.5 at Sunningdale in what is the women's amateur version of the Solheim Cup. Well done to the team . RE: Golf - Doddle - 02-09-2024 12:39 Scheffler won again RE: Golf - Boomerangutangangbang - 05-10-2024 18:41 Tyrell Hatton takes a one shot lead into the final round over Nicolas Colsaerts in the Dunhill Links Championship. Hatton is a 2 time winner of the tournament in 2016 & 2017. He was looking in complete control with a 3 shot lead before going double-bogey, bogey at 13 & 14 as Colsaerts fought all the way with Hatton sinking a 3 foot birdie putt on the 18th for victory. |
