Just a coincidence that was just after his re-election in 2011 when Platini was going to stand against him then didnt Wink and suddenly remember he hadnt been paid 2 million swiss francs for work he had supposidly done 7 years earlier Wink

So Septic and Platters banned from any football related work for 8 years. Platters is going to sue for blighting his reputation, and Septic has a sore heart, and he isnt responsible for others that were under him. Isnt that what he was paid to do? FIFA has been corrupt for so long these bampots dont even think there bribes and bungs were corruption. These criminals need some serious jail time, but we all know that will never happenSadSad

Baltter hasn't been found guilty of taking bungs. He's been found guilty of making an improper payment.

The Ethics Committee felt that there wasn't enough evidence in this case to support a criminal prosecution. So as things stand Blatter and Platini aren't going to be locked away anywhere. They could possibly be charged with false accounting over the matter, but that isn't likely to carry a sentence of imprisonment in the same way that a corruption charge would.

^ Yet...

This was just the internal investigation of course.

I assume Charlemagne was refering to the Swiss and FBI cases these guys have hanging over the heads like Gary Lineker round the goal mouth.

Michel Platini says he will not stand in the FIFA presidential election

"I'm withdrawing from the race for the Fifa presidency. The timing is not good for me. I don't have the means to fight on equal terms with the other candidates. I have not been given the chance to play the game. Bye bye Fifa, bye bye Fifa presidency."

General Secretary Jerome Valcke, currently suspended, has now been sacked.

RE: FIFA - Charlemagne - 23-02-2016 22:06

The FIFA world football leadership election is happening on Friday.
But contentors Prince Ali bin al Hussein & Jerome Champagne want the voting to take place in transparent voting booths. This would stop FIFA delegates from taking photos of their voting paper to prove who they signed for.

FIFA's electoral committee said portable phones and cameras would be banned from the booths. But it had rejected the prince's initial demand for transparent booths.
