The latter continuing the HN trend of a shock semi-finalist. How it's finished up with a China v UK final is odd. RE: Home Nations £1m tournament - Snooks - 08-10-2023 00:30 Judd Trump recovered from 2-5 down to beat John Higgins 6-5 and reach the title match. Zhang Anda beat Liu Hongyu 6-2 to reach his first ever ranking final. RE: Home Nations £1m tournament - Joannis - 08-10-2023 06:21 Fantastic recovery from Judd to make the final!! However, even if he beats Zhang Anda tonight, the future of snooker is looking Chinese. I can foresee a future a few years down the line when Higgins, Williams and O'Sullivan are retired and most of the top 16 are Chinese players. RE: Home Nations £1m tournament - Doddle - 08-10-2023 20:10 Well done to Liu on getting to a semi-final, not least for beating Murphy along the way. Zhang has showed little fear in his first final, leading 5-1 and 7-3 at times, though not over the line yet. RE: Home Nations £1m tournament - Joannis - 09-10-2023 10:33 Fantastic come back from Judd Trump from 7-3 down to win 9-7!! The UK contingent are coming out on top in the battles for now. But I have a feeling that the Chinese players will win the war as long as they don't get involved in match fixing to cheat the bookies like the previous lot. Well done Trump, he seemed quite grateful for carving out the win. Credit to Anda in a first final, he gave it a good go. RE: Home Nations £1m tournament - Joannis - 21-10-2023 17:27 His arm must still be having problems with tennis elbow. Oh well. Looks like the European football will be taking priority on my Discovery Plus this week.
